Friends of Blue Heron Park helps support this 250+ acre nature center and wildlife preserve located in Annadale Staten Island. HOW TO GET THERE:
By S.I.

In the 1970's, a group of citizens, now known as Friends of Blue Heron Park, lobbied for the creation of a protected natural area on Staten Island's south shore. In 1984, as a result of their work and dedication, 155 acres were designated by the city as parkland. In 1998, Blue Heron Nature Center opened its doors to the public. As of 2005, Blue Heron Park has grown to over 250 acres. Rapid Transit
