Bronx Community Board 9 We proudly represents over 200,000 residents, as well as countless businesses and organizations, in the southeast Bronx.

We serve the communities of Bronx River, Bruckner, Castle Hill, Clason Point, Harding Park, Parkchester, Park Stratton, Soundview, and Unionport. According to the 2010 US Census, our District has a population of 172,000, which makes us the largest Community District in the Bronx. Bronx Community Board 9 strives to improve quality of life for our residents by advocating for new housing and local investment, improving our parks, open spaces, local services, and encouraging community engagement that creates family friendly neighborhoods. We proudly act as a community organizer, constituent advocate, and venue for civic engagement for our District. The Community Board works with our local elected officials to ensure city services are delivered to our Constituents, as well as with community-based organizations on local events and projects. The Board serves as a critical information resource for community members. The Board strives to ensure that the future of our community is the best one possible. We are committed to being actively engaged with issues and developments ongoing within our District.

BXCB9 invites you to attend our Public Safety & Transportation Committee Meeting taking place tonight at 7PM at our Office at 1967 Turnbull Ave, Suite 201. This meeting is open to the public!

The Public Safety & Transportation committee represents the community’s interests with regards to sanitation, crime, fire-ems, quality of life, NYS liquor license application recommendations, street activity permit applications, street re-naming application, transportation and acts as a liaison between community members and the New York Police Department & Fire Departments, NYC Department of Environmental Protection, NYC Department of Sanitation, NYC Department of Transportation, & NYS Liquor Authority.

BXCB9 invites you to attend our Social Services Committee Meeting taking place tonight at 6:30PM at our Office at 1967 Turnbull Ave, Suite 201. This meeting is open to the public!

The Social Services committee represents the community’s interests with regards to social services including senior services, disability, and veterans concerns and acts as a liaison between community members and the NYC Human Resources Administration, Department of Social Services, Department of Aging, and the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene. The Seniors Connected Sub-Committee is under this committee.

The Homes & Housing Committee represents the community’s interests with regards to housing related matters and concerns, namely in relation to NYCHA, and acts as a liaison between community members and the New York City Housing Authority as well as local property owners, management teams, TAs and HOAs.
