Roundtable Discussion for Peace and the Future of Kashmir held at Consulate General of Pakistan New York

The Consulate General of Pakistan in New York hosted a high-level event and roundtable discussion titled "Dialogue on Kashmir: A Conversation for Peace, Partnership & the Future" today at the consulate premises. The discussion brought together distinguished community leaders and prominent members of the Kashmiri diaspora from the tri-state area to address the ongoing geopolitical situation in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu & Kashmir (IIOJK). Participants strongly condemned the ongoing atrocities committed by the Indian government in the IIOJK and passionately advocated for the fundamental rights of the Kashmiri people.

Consul General Aamer Ahmed Atozai strongly reiterated Pakistan’s principled position on the dispute, firmly calling for a peaceful resolution based on the relevant United Nations Security Council (UNSC) resolutions that guarantee the right to self-determination.

Mr. Rana Muhammad Qasim Noon, Federal Minister and Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Kashmir of the National Assembly of Pakistan, highlighted that Kashmir remains a sacred national cause. In his remarks, he honored the rich history of martyrs who have sacrificed their lives for freedom, describing their struggle as both a noble and enduring pursuit of justice. He emphasized that Kashmir is an integral part of Pakistan and reaffirmed that the state of Pakistan will continue to extend unwavering diplomatic, political, and moral support to the just cause of the Kashmiri people.

The insightful discussion was moderated by Guest of Honor Ghazala Habib Khan, Chairperson of Friends of Kashmir International, who closed the session with an urgent call for global solidarity and international support to finally resolve the long-standing Kashmir dispute.
