💜 When the Hair starts dancing too... you KNOW the ball is balling 😮‍💨🔥Every dip, spin, strut, and hair flip tells its own story. ✨

This is what the Lilac Ball has always been about: movement, freedom, self-expression, Ballroom, and LGBTQ+ youth having the space to show up as their FULL selves.

TONIGHT, we’re doing it again. 💜

In celebration of , the Annual Lilac Ball returns as a space for our young people to move, create, compete, celebrate, and experience what it feels like to be surrounded by community that sees them and cheers them on.

So stretch those legs, secure that hair... or don’t 👀... and get ready. The runway is calling.

Destination Tomorrow was proud to host the NY/NJ House & Ballroom Alliance at our Bronx LGBTQ Center for an overview of our services and a walkthrough of our space.

Together, we shared resources, discussed community needs and gaps in services, and explored how we can continue strengthening our partnership.

For more than a decade, DT has worked alongside House and Ballroom communities. Our community deserves to know what support is available, how to access it, and that their voices help shape the work.

Thank you

Thank you to everyone who joined us and brought your experiences, questions, and care for our community into the room.

Knowing your rights should never depend on who you know or whether you have someone to guide you. We deserve clear information and space to ask questions without judgment.

Join Destination Tomorrow for Clock the Vote, a community dinner centered on understanding your rights as a voter. We’ll share a meal, discuss voting protections and accessibility, and learn where to turn for support when barriers arise.

Bring your questions. Pull up a chair. There is room for you at this table.

💜 COMING OUT ISN’T THE END OF THE STORY. THRIVING OUT LOUD IS.

As we close out National Coming Out Week, we honor every LGBTQ+ person living authentically, and we also hold space for those who are still discovering who they are, choosing when or whether to share, or waiting until it feels safe. Visibility is powerful, but everyone’s journey belongs to them.

And that spirit of authenticity carries us right into The Annual Lilac Ball. 💜✨
On Friday, October 16th, Destination Tomorrow’s Youth Programs Department is bringing our young people together for a celebration rooted in , Ballroom, self-expression, community, and LGBTQ+ joy.

Because we don’t just want LGBTQ+ youth to feel brave enough to come out. We want them to see a future where they can show up, take up space, find chosen family, express themselves fully, and THRIVE.

From Coming Out Week to the Lilac Ball, the message remains the same:
There is room for you here. Exactly as you are. 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️💜

More than a gala. More than an award. This is about LEGACY. 🏆

The Angie Awards are Destination Tomorrow’s annual celebration of the people whose leadership, advocacy, service, and commitment are creating meaningful change for our communities.

It’s our opportunity to give people their flowers, celebrate how far we’ve come, and honor those helping us build what comes next.

On November 20th, we gather again. 💎Link in bio or swipe for the QR code.

Counted Out. Still Counting Up.

💜 WHY DO WE GO PURPLE? Because LGBTQ+ youth deserve to see what’s possible.

The Annual Lilac Ball is Destination Tomorrow’s celebration of , the world’s most visible anti-bullying movement supporting LGBTQ+ youth, especially transgender and nonbinary young people, in living boldly, authentically, and in their truth.

On Friday, October 16th, we’re bringing our community together through the energy and legacy of Ballroom to create something bigger than a celebration. The Lilac Ball is about visibility, representation, chosen family, and possibility. It’s about giving LGBTQ+ youth a space where they can see themselves celebrated and surrounded by people who affirm exactly who they are.

At a time when LGBTQ+ young people continue to experience bullying, discrimination, and growing challenges to their visibility and access to affirming spaces, showing up matters. 💜

So we’re going LILAC for Spirit Day and reminding our young people: You belong. You are worthy of celebration. And there is a whole community rooting for you to thrive.
