My decades long friend and colleague Dr. John Flateau passed away yesterday. John was a giant in the world of public service, voting rights, & civil rights.

His work for the NY state legislature, state and city redistricting efforts, NYC Board of Elections, Mayor Dinkins, Medgar Evers College and so many others is legend.

His passing was sudden. I saw him in a redistricting Zoom meeting two dayscago and we talked last week, planning for another voting rights workshop.

May John Flateau's memory be a blessing.
