6/15 GREEN 2026 SPRING FESTIVAL AND PLANT SALE
6/15 Green, a community garden in the South Slope (at the intersection of 6th Avenue and 15th Street in Brooklyn) launches its public events for the year with its annual Spring Festival and Plant Sale on Saturday, May 9th from 10:00 am to dusk. Festivities include activities for children, live music, arts exhibitions and a bake sale.The rain date will be Sunday, May 10th. A potluck is scheduled to start at 4:00. Some activities will take place on 15th Street, which will be closed off from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. The plant sale will take place from 10 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. The community potluck starts at 4:00. Admission is free, and open to the public.
6/15 Green's Festival will begin--as it always does--with joyful music for the children from 11:00 to 12:00. Brooke Dramer will perform with Mikhail Haramati, with special guest Eman Rashid will be performing their mix of Beatles music and folk music for kids, and will be joined by their menagerie of hand puppets: Ringo the Octopus, Puff the Dragon, Augie and Hippolyta Hippo, and enough puppets to go around so that the children will get to join them onstage during the finale.
The musicians performing for the rest of they day will include:
⦁ David Emmett with special guest Justin Cornell, Noon; Americana, NOLA R&B.
⦁ Driftwood Brothers, 1;00; Pop rock cover duo. They have a regular gig at Prospect Bar & Grill.
⦁ Shu Nakamura Band, 2;00; Original funk & rock from a high energy trio, singing in Japanese and some serious guitar playing by Shu.
⦁ The Night Breakers, 3:00, R & B and Blues. They have a regular gig at Freddy's and Young Ethel's. Everything from She caught the Katy to their really great originals.
⦁ Tracy Fitz and friends, 4:00, TBA
⦁ Gabriel Meyers, 5:00. Solo. Rock covers and originals; great singer/guitarist seen regularly fronting the band a bird.
⦁ Eagle/C**t Combo, 6:00 - 8:00 Bebop and soul jazz.They have a monthly residency at Freddy's in the front room, and write originals as good as the classic jazz they play.
Exhibiting artists will include: THE OPEN SPACE GALLERY PROJECT visiting artists Joseph Militello and Richard Kessler. ArtsPSWT (https://www.artspswt.com) collective artists Carol Adams (potter) and Linda Schneider (painter) will also be exhibiting work. Short poetry readings- by Paola Corso at 2:45, and Peter Schneider at 3:45 - cap a celebration of both of their new books. Shneider will be present all afternoon, and passing out poems!

6/15 GREEN 2025 FALL FESTIVAL AND PLANT SALE
6/15 Green, a community garden in the South Slope (at the intersection of 6th Avenue and 15th Street in Brooklyn) is hosting its annual Fall Festival and Plant Sale on Saturday, September 27th from 10:30 am to 8:00 pm. Festivities start at 10:30 a.m., and include activities for children, live music, and a bake sale.The rain date will be Sunday, September 28. A potluck is scheduled to start at 3:00. Some of the activities will take place on 15th Street, which will be closed off from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. The plant sale will take place from 10 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.

6/15 Green’s annual Harvest Festival will begin under the willow tree, as it always does, with joyous music for the children. At 10:30, folksinger Brooke Dramer will be joined onstage by singers Mikhail Haramati and Eman Rashid and their menagerie of hand puppets. The children's concert will be the usual mix of Beatles songs and English and American folk music—with songs ranging from the 15th through 20th centuries. All of the children will be invited to go up on stage to perform with animal hand puppets during the Tom Paxton song "Going to the Zoo."

Immediately after the show, children can walk over to the garden's Story Grove to hear Brooklyn author Lauren Fornoles read aloud from her books Sheba the Alley Cat and Night Owl and Early Bird (see https://youtu.be/ZKCOnwssoT0 for a sample of her reading aloud.) 15th Street between 5th and 6th Avenues will be closed for most of the day. Children can enjoy activities there, or they can stay in the garden and paint pumpkins or play in the children's garden while the entertainment under the willow tree continues until 8:00 PM. Gorilla Baroque (Tracy Fitz, solo), 12:00 - 12:45 pm: Hildegard of Bingen 1098-1179, O tu illustrata; Comtesse de Dia 1140-1212, A Chantar; Guillaume de Machaut 1300-1377, Plus Dure; Ockeghem 1410-1497, Baisiez moy donc fort; William Byrd 1540-1623, Gipseis Round; Antonio Vivaldi 1675-1741, Le Quattro Stagioni; JS Bach 1985-1750, BVD 1013 for solo flute Amin, Sarabande; Georg Phillipp Telemann 1681-1769, fl Fantasie 6, Dmin, Spirituoso; Claude Debussy 1862-1918, Syrinx; Arthur Foote 1853-1937, Scherzo; W***y Ostyn 1913-1993, Canzonetta. Sogobrook, (Tracy Fitz and Dan Sofaer), 1:45 - 2:45 pm: folk, blues flute - guitar fusion. Cellist Anahit Gaskill will also perform.

Additional music will be an eclectic offering of jazz, classical, and the music of New Orleans. The headliner at this year’s Harvest Festival will be the Eagle C**t Jazz Combo, who have been entertaining on Sunday afternoons at Freddy’s Bar and Back Room (see https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tEMjCU_JSFA). Other performers will include Jacomo Fino,Seth Goldart, Alex Fox Tshan and Pastel Hell, and Richard James.

Performing Live At 6/15 Green!
Riffs and Runs
Sunday, September 7th
3:30pm - 4:30pm
The Riffs and Runs are a local Brooklyn-based band playing an eclectic mix of bluegrass, country and blues music exploring some of the dreams and sorrows of our times. Fresh from their popular performance at the Porch Stomp Bluegrass Festival this June, the band is ready to bring their evolving take on roots music (with a pinch of jazz and R&B) to the garden this Sunday. Hope you'll join us!
