"I am so emotional seeing how the city just comes together."
Today, our members at the Roundtable Older Adult Center gathered for a special viewing party of the New York Knicks Championship ticker-tape parade, cheering on their beloved champions alongside millions of New Yorkers across the city. 🧡🏀🗽
Even Shakti Denis from News 12 The Bronx stopped by to capture the incredible energy and NYC pride filling the room.
When one member was asked how she felt, her response said it all: "AAHHHHHHH!"
Honestly? Same. 😄
Congratulations to the on an incredible championship! And thank you Mayor Zohran Kwame Mamdani for giving our community another reason to come together. 💙🧡

Relay races were run. Tug-of-war ropes were pulled. Trophies were earned. Hot dogs were consumed. In other words, it was a successful RiseBoro Field Day. 🏃♀🌭🏆
Youth from across our programs gathered at Valley Stream State Park for a day of friendly competition, teamwork, and just the right amount of chaos. But don't just take our word for it:
“I came for the games, stayed for the laughs, and somehow survived the relay races!” — Rodman, 10th Grade, Educational Support Program
“My favorite part of Field Day is coming to the park with my friends to play games and win a trophy.” — Marcus, Kindergarten, Compass Youth Center Program
“I like seeing friends from other classes and cheering everyone on.” — Jerson, 5th Grade, Compass @ 86 Program
“As a senior, I like Field Day because it’s the last experience I get to share with my friends at RiseBoro.” — Cassidy, 12th Grade, Learn & Earn Program
Congratulations to all of our teams for bringing their energy, sportsmanship, and school spirit. Until next year…start training! 😎

Music has a remarkable way of bringing people together. 🎻✨
Members from RiseBoro’s Roundtable Older Adult Center experienced Lincoln Center Moments: The Great Innovators, a relaxed Chamber Music Society performance created for individuals living with disabilities and dementia.
These special programs make the arts more accessible while creating space for joy, connection, and community. Thank you to Lincoln Center for making moments like these possible for our RiseBoro community!

"What people need to know is that someone is on their side."
In a recent conversation with Schneps Media, our CEO, Kieran Harrington, reflected on the principle that has guided RiseBoro's work for more than 50 years: stronger communities are built with neighbors helping neighbors.
That belief is at the heart of everything we do. From affordable housing and supportive services to education, older adult programs, and community advocacy, RiseBoro works every day to help New Yorkers build stability, opportunity, and connection.
Kieran also shared a candid reflection on the work ahead: "We're not perfect, but we want to do more to get people the support they deserve."
With more than 1,000 affordable homes on the horizon, we're committed to continuing that work—one neighbor at a time. Listen to the full podcast conversation to learn more about RiseBoro's impact, vision, and how you can get involved: http://bit.ly/4e03uxs

This month, volunteers from RiseBoro’s Friendly Visiting Program gathered to celebrate the friendships, conversations, and connections they’ve built with older adults across our community.
Over a shared meal, volunteers reflected on the moments that matter most and were recognized for helping combat social isolation through the simple but powerful act of showing up.
Thank you to every volunteer who reminds us that connection is one of the greatest gifts we can give.

This Older Americans Month, RiseBoro partnered with Citi volunteers through Safe Banking for Seniors to host a Flowers & Finances workshop that helped older adults recognize scams, prevent financial exploitation, and grow more confident managing their finances safely. 🌸
Like any strong community garden, these workshops are rooted in connection, trust, and support across generations—values that are central to both RiseBoro’s and Citi’s work.
Thank you to everyone who came out and to BloomAgainBklyn for making this event bloom! Join RiseBoro in creating community and connection across the city: https://riseboro.org/join-us/

🎉 Last week, we gathered with residents, partners, supporters, and community members to celebrate the opening of Bethany Senior Terraces—a new chapter in a legacy of care and community that spans more than 100 years. 🎉
This project brings 57 permanently affordable homes to older adults in East Flatbush, including supportive housing for seniors who have experienced homelessness. But this is about more than housing. It's about creating a place where people can age with dignity, build connections, and feel a true sense of belonging.
We're deeply grateful to everyone who helped make this vision a reality. And most importantly, congratulations to the residents who now call Bethany Senior Terraces home. We are honored to be part of your journey.
