Team Wolfhound,
Last Saturday, the Fighting 69th had our Change of Responsibility ceremony, bidding farewell to our outgoing Command Sergeant Major, CSM Zeller, and welcoming CSM Goodrich. If you couldn't attend this historic and inspiring tradition, we've attached the video of CSM Zeller’s final address to our Battalion as he retires after 30 years of active duty service. Below are some of his quoted words of wisdom to his fellow Wolfhounds.
“Have compassion, understanding, and empathy. Be there for the person to your left and right. Continue to keep getting after it, strive for excellence, hold each other accountable, continue to be the bearer of standards and discipline, make a decision and own it.”
“Ruck up, pull your bootstraps nice and tight, lean forward, move out, execute with purpose and pay the damn rent!”

Congratulations to the 1-182nd Infantry Regiment for clinching the title for this years Logan Duffy shooting competition at Camp Smith Training Site! Your professionalism and camaraderie were truly commendable.
Though there can only be one champion, both regiments showcased their champion spirit throughout the event and we couldn’t be anymore prouder for our Wolfhounds of the Fighting 69th! Our hats are off to the incredible effort by both teams with and ending score of 1-69IN (979pt) and 1-182IN (980pt). Let's carry on this tradition and stand as brothers in arms for the years to come.
Let us all give a huge thank you to the Wounded Warrior Project for their continued support and services to our Soldiers. We want to also thank our 69th Veterans Corps for their support in making our banquet and awards ceremony a success, our Fighting 69th Whiskey for your endless support, Mr. Joe Brady for playing the pipes, and Eileen Flanagan for the amazing Wolfhounds that will be marching with us Saturday.
Lastly the the most important people that never get enough recognition are our Soldiers and Staff that make it all happen behind the scenes and our hard working pit crews on the targets. Thank you Warriors, you are why it all was a success!!
Garyowen, In Glory!

We might not be the strongest, smartest, or richest individuals, but what sets us apart is our unwavering will to work. In a world where there's no substitute for putting in the effort, remember that hard work is the key that works 100% of the time for 100% of the things worth achieving. So, embrace the grind, put in the hard work, and watch your dreams come to life, because work truly works, no matter who you are. Keep pushing, and pay that rent, Wolfhounds!

Team Wolfhound,
Get ready to unleash your exceptional marksmanship skills on 13 March 2024 as we face the 1-182nd Infantry Regiment in the Logan Duffy championship! It's not just a shooting competition; it's our chance to maintain our reign as the reigning champions. So, 1–182IN, prepare for a howling good time as we ensure the Logan Duffy cup stays firmly in our paws. May your aim be as sharp as our sense of humor, which is poor as can be, and may the targets tremble in the face of our dominance!

Team Wolfhound and friends,
When the phone rings, it holds the unknown – a call from a warrior, a fellow veteran, or a friend in need. In the hustle of our lives, it's tempting to send it to voicemail or overlook the text, but I implore you: when they call, answer. The impact of your response may range from simply listening to potentially saving a life.
Let's keep the faith, do the right thing, and stand together for our battle buddies. Your support makes a difference. Together, we stand strong.

A Brief History
The 69th Infantry Regiment is an infantry regiment of the United States Army. It is from New York City, part of the New York Army National Guard. It is known as the "Fighting Sixty-Ninth",[1] a name said to have been given by Robert E. Lee during the Civil War. An Irish heritage unit, as the citation from poet Joyce Kilmer illustrates, this unit is also nicknamed the "Fighting Irish", immortalized in Joyce Kilmer's poem When the 69th Comes Home.[2][3] Between 1917 and 1992 it was also designated as the 165th Infantry Regiment. It is headquartered at the 69th Regiment Armory in Manhattan.
The regiment currently consists of a single light infantry battalion (1st Battalion, 69th Infantry Regiment) and is part of the 27th Infantry Brigade of the 42nd Infantry Division. Its history dates back to 1849, when it was created as the 9th Regiment New York State Militia, and A Company, 1/69 can trace roots back to the American Revolution. The regiment has seen combat in five wars: the American Civil War, World War I, World War II, the Iraq War and the Afghanistan War. It has also participated in 23 campaigns, so many that the staffs of its regimental colors are authorized to be one foot longer than normal to accommodate them all
