Join us tonight for Coro's Virtual Gala where we will be honoring Karen E. Franz, Chief Executive Officer of AKRF, a premier consulting firm based in New York City. Karen is a Senior Officer of AKRF and previously directed the firm’s Engineering Department, leading major New York City initiatives to bring coastal resiliency and sustainable infrastructure to local communities. Her prominent projects have included East Side Coastal Resiliency, Brooklyn Bridge Park, Astoria Park, Governors Island Park and Public Space, and New York City Green Infrastructure, as well as infrastructure planning for Coney Island, Columbia University’s Manhattanville Campus, and the Cornell Tech Campus. At this year's Virtual Gala, we will be honoring William Rudin. William is the CEO & Co-Chairman of Rudin Management Company. Under his leadership, the integration of technology and environmental design are hallmarks of Rudin’s development philosophy. Mr. Rudin is the current chairman of the Real Estate Board of New York and former Chairman of the Real Estate Roundtable. He is also chairman of the Battery Conservancy and a board member of the Association for a Better New York (ABNY), the Partnership for New York City, the Mayor’s Fund to Advance New York City, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Alliance for Downtown New York, the Economic Club of New York, and the Alfred E. We are thrilled to be honoring Gregg Bishop (LNY 21) at this year’s Coro Gala on April 27th. Gregg will be receiving the Alumni Honoree Award for all of his incredible work running a dynamic City agency focused on equity of opportunity, that leads to economic self-sufficiency and mobility for New York City’s diverse communities. Gregg has launched the ‘Love your Local‘ initiative to celebrate independent, neighborhood businesses, CUNY 2x Tech to double the number of CUNY students with a tech-related bachelor’s degrees and the Black Entrepreneurship Initiative (BE NYC) to help more black-owned businesses start and grow. He has also connected a record number of small businesses to capital and served a record number of women through the WE NYC program.
