Four celebrations, one shared heritageđŽđšđşđ¸
From October 10 to 12, we proudly joined New Yorkâs Italian-American community for the 82nd Annual Columbus Day celebrations, honoring the traditions and achievements of a community that has helped shape the ties between Italy and the United States.
Consul General Giuseppe Pastorelli proudly joined all four celebrations, beginning with the Columbus Citizens Foundationâs annual Gala at Cipriani Wall Street on Saturday evening, which also supports the Foundationâs educational mission and scholarship programs.
On Sunday, the Consulate General took part in the traditional wreath-laying ceremony at Columbus Circle, paying tribute to Cristoforo Colombo and our beautiful community.
Monday began with Mass at St. Patrick's Cathedral, followed by the Columbus Day Parade along Fifth Avenue. The Consulate General joined the parade, alongside the Vice President of the Italian Chamber of Deputees Giorgio MuleĚ, representatives from the Italian and Italian-American community and associations, celebrating their shared heritage.
As the United States marks its 250th anniversary, this yearâs celebrations offered a meaningful opportunity to recognize the lasting contributions of Italians and Italian Americans to American society.
