Established in 1875, The New York Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children (NYSPCC) was the first child protection agency in the world. Throughout its distinguished history, The NYSPCC has sought to develop and implement innovative mental health, legal and educational programs that protect children from harm and ensure their healthy development.

Healing New York is proud to announce that we will honor Jalen Brunson's Second Round Foundation with the Game Changers for Children Award at our 2026 Fall Gala on November 19.

Co-founded by New York Knicks captain and NBA champion Jalen Brunson and his mother, Sandra Brunson, the Second Round Foundation has built its reputation on widening access and opportunity for young people through education, sports, mentorship, and community-based wellness programs.

Founded by Jalen and his mother, Sandra Brunson, Second Round Foundation is planting seeds of equity for young people through education, sports, wellness, and community engagement. This work mirrors our own mission of helping families rebuild and thrive.

"Where you start doesn't have to determine where you finish," says Jalen Brunson. That's exactly the belief we've built our 150-year legacy on.
