Teresa’s story is not an easy one to hear - but it's an important one.

When Teresa came to Herzog, she had nowhere left to turn. After trauma and betrayal by those she trusted, she arrived in need of safety, care, and solid ground from which to begin healing.

With professional post-trauma treatment and Herzog’s network of support, Teresa was able to rebuild her life piece by piece.

Today, she is completing her master’s degree in social work and leads her own social services department in Jerusalem.

“For me, Herzog wasn’t just a stop along the way,” she says. “Even though I officially finished treatment, it is still the place I call home.”

In honor of International Nurses Day, we held a special conference at Herzog today focused on the challenges of an ageing population, geriatric care, and the vital role of nursing teams in our healthcare system.

We highlighted the essential contribution of clinical nurses who lead care every day - guiding patients, supporting families, and shaping the work on the ground.

It was powerful to see a full room of professionals come together for a day of learning, inspiration, and connection.

Most of all, it was a moment to say thank you - to the nurses and care teams who are at the heart of everything we do.
