Spark an intersectional youth-led movement that fights for our right to vote & a just democracy 4 all

04/21/2026

The U.S. Senate is back from recess and we’re going to make sure that they don’t stop hearing from young people and students about how horrible the SAVE Act is.

We know that this bill will make it harder, if not impossible, to vote for millions of young people across the country. If you want to join GenVote and our youth allies in stopping the SAVE Act, use the bit.ly link in the video (and below) to get updates on how young people and students can plug into the fight to stop SAVE ⬇️

Last month, I had the honor of traveling to Selma, Alabama with the Workers Circle’s young adult delegation to commemorate Bloody Sunday and reflect on the legacy of those who fought, and sacrificed, for the right to vote. We spent a few days learning, grounding ourselves in the history of the Civil Rights Movement, and visiting powerful sites like the Legacy Museum and the National Memorial for Peace and Justice, all while connecting the lessons of the past to the fights we’re in right now.

Marching across the Edmund Pettus Bridge, I paused at the top and felt the full weight of the history of Bloody Sunday and the Civil Rights Movement. Standing there, I was reminded that I’m not just an individual organizer, but part of a lineage, a next generation of leaders carrying forward the work to fight for the right to vote and a just democracy for all.

That truth feels especially urgent right now. As attacks on voting rights continue across the country, young people are stepping up to fight for our democracy just like those before us did. And being in Selma reminded me that while the fight continues today, we’ve won before and we will win again.

“The Save America Act is not about election integrity, it is about election weaponization…. Students move frequently, every new dorm, every new apartment means another trip to an election office just to stay registered. That is not a minor inconvenience. That is a barrier specifically designed to keep us out of the ballot box.”

📞 Call Senators TODAY (833-346-1779) to demand they vote NO on this ugly anti-student, anti-trans, anti-voter bill. Link in bio if you want to get involved in our movement of young people fighting for voting rights and a just democracy for all ✊🏽

BREAKING: Students from ask Senator Rick Scott why he supports a bill that would steal the right to vote for over 8 million voters in Florida.

What’s “complete crap” is misleading propaganda that the so-called “SAVE” Act is just a “voter ID” law. This bill is a desperate attempt to rig the 2026 elections by allowing mass voter purges, forcing states to give sensitive data to DHS and DOGE, and creating a modern day poll tax for millions of eligible voters. If passed, the so-called “SAVE Act” would go into effect immediately and require every single American citizen to track down documents like a birth certificate or passport every time they register or re-register to vote.

We’re sparking a movement of young people fighting for our right to vote and a just democracy for all, which means mobilizing hundreds of young people to protect voting rights and defend free and fair elections from authoritarian power grabs like the “SAVE” Act.

The “SAVE” Act SUCKS ‼️‼️GenVoters and students from joined our allies at and for a powerful rally to demand the U.S. Senate reject the most dangerous voter bill in our lifetime.

This week, the MAGA faction in the Senate are forcing a week- long theatrics to debate the so-called “SAVE Act”. If passed, the bill would mandate all eligible voters track down documents like a birth certificate or passport (which can cost up to $165) to sign up to vote AND provide a photo ID at polling places.

For the past year, GenVoters have been at the forefront of the fight to stop this modern day poll tax for millions of eligible voters. Use the links in bio to email Senators and join our movement of young people fighting for voting rights and free, fair elections 🔥

“What are you going to do Ted??” 👀

BREAKING: Students from ask Senator Ted Cruz why he supports a bill that could block over 12 million Texans from voting before the 2026 elections.

Don’t be fooled by Ted Cruz’s lies🤮: Under the so-called “SAVE Act,” millions of eligible voters would be unable to register to vote with their drivers license alone. If passed, it would require every single American citizen to track down documents like a birth certificate or passport every time they register or re-register to vote. In Texas, 12,361,466 citizens do not have a valid passport, which can cost up to $165 to get.

What Ted Cruz isn’t saying🤫: this costly “show your papers” requirement creates more barriers than most existing state voter ID laws and would go into effect immediately, forcing Texans - and young people across the country - to spend money and drive hours, in some cases even fly, to prove in-person to their election officials that they are a citizen.

What’s worse is the “SAVE Act” does more than that ‼️It is an attempt to rig the midterms by allowing mass voter purges to remove voters from the rolls, forcing states to share voter registration lists with DHS, and eliminating no-excuse mail-in voting.

We see through Cruz’s lies and this Administration’s desperate attempts to steal power from the people. Call Senators 📞 (202-224-3121) to demand they vote NO, email their offices and join our movement of young people fighting for our right to vote and a just democracy for all (links in bio) ✊🐦‍🔥

The so-called “SAVE Act” is back and the House could vote for this racist anti-voter bill as early as THIS WEDNESDAY‼️

House Republicans have relaunched the same project under new names: the Save America Act and the Make Elections Great Again (MEGA) Act. Different names, same BS: blocking millions of eligible voters from the ballot in upcoming midterm elections by imposing restrictive voter ID, mandating mass voter purges, and intimidating local election officials.

We’ve beaten the SAVE Act before because GenVoters showed up, organized, and refused to be silent, and we can do it again:

Thank you to the GenVoters, GenVote community and all of our supporters for helping us win this year’s Aicher Impact Award and $5,000 prize!! 🎉🥇

We closed out the competition in first place with over 1,575 votes, which is a testament to how much love there is for our movement and support for Generation Vote. Over the span of two weeks, we saw GenVoters canvassing our neighbors, making classroom announcements, and our partner organizations sharing about our work all across the country 🐦‍🔥🔥

We couldn’t have done it without each and every one of you voting every single day, encouraging your friends and family to join in, and rallying your networks to support GenVote. The year may be winding down, but we’re already gearing up for what’s ahead in 2026: supporting our GenVoters with new trainings, developing new leaders in the movement with our fellowships and election defense programs, advancing local and state electoral justice campaigns, and holding critical youth-led pro-democracy convenings across the country.

If you can, help us translate the amazing energy from the Aicher Impact Award and donate to our movement today (link in up)💸
