Drop a ❤️ to affirm!

It is so important for us and our children to understand self-worth and build confidence. Not only do positive affirmations build mindfulness and kindness, but it also helps build compassion for us and our children.✨

Knowing how to respond when our children make a mistake, experience a failure or setback is an important skill for us parents to learn. 💯

We may not realize it, but our reactions to our children's mistakes can have lasting effects on how they process a setback and move on.

By talking to them in a calm tone (without letting anger take the best of us), our child is reassured that they can trust us.

Mistakes are certain for both kids and adults alike. Still, when they happen, however accidental or purposeful, the way we respond makes a difference.✨

Hi mommas!👋

For this week's Podcast episode we will talk about Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder. (ADHD)

Children with ADHD often feel misunderstood by the people around them. Verbal communication (Talking things out) can be difficult at times, especially when they don’t have it all together in their minds just yet.

A diagnosis of ADHD doesn’t have to put our children at a disadvantage in life.

There's a lot to love about ADHD and all the creativity, empathy, tenacity, and special talents it brings!

With the right support and love, our children can be whatever they want to be as long as we believe in them! 💖

How can we help our children with ADHD thrive at Home and School?🤔

Both at home and at school, it’s important to provide our children with clear expectations and to do so in a positive manner.✔️

Structure and routine are especially important for children with ADHD. Being able to predict parts of their days can give our children one less thought in their minds and help them organize their thinking.

The most commonly associated trait for those of us with ADHD is, of course, hyperactivity.

As parents, how can we naturally help our children manage their hyperactivity?

🌟Take them for a walk. Walking rejuvenates both their mind and body and also enhances their focus.

🌟Play Games. Playing indoor and outdoor games with our children may help a lot too. We can play chess and puzzles with them. If they’re feeling a bit adventurous, we can take them outdoors to play games like table tennis, badminton, soccer...

🌟Change our Diet. It’s best to give them fresh home-cooked meals that are free of preservatives and artificial flavors because those exacerbate hyperactivity.

🌟Offer the gift of presence. Let’s be involved with their schoolwork, daily activities and give them our attention and show them appreciation in moments when they do something good or productive.

🌟Set up a daily routine. Setting up a routine for our children is important and this will help them be disciplined. This will help reduce anxiety and restlessness.
