HAPPENING THIS TUESDAY!
"On November 10th, we will be speaking out against impending budget cuts to City College as well as against the low minimum wage. CCNY will be cut 14.2 million dollars, which will be devastating to many of our programs, as well as to clubs on campus, who are competing for a small amount of funding. Columbia University students will be speaking about their campaign for a living wage for campus workers. We'll be connecting the dots between confronting corporate greed and building student power."

Thank you to everyone who came out to our first ever Pizza & Politics event! We had a very frank, honest, and engaging discussion about microaggressions and racism at CCNY. Thank you for sharing your experiences. We look forward to seeing you at future events!
Missed the discussion but still interested in the conversation? No biggie! Follow it here: http://bit.ly/1xiCSRd

Attention all current City College students:
In preparation for student government's meeting with President Coico next week, please fill out this survey on campus sexual assault/harassment and gender and sexuality support services.
It will only take 15-20 minutes of your time (less if only the 6 required questions apply to you) and is invaluable in our push for a Gender Resource Center.
Sexual assault/harassment is largely under-reported. We need to show the administration that there is a strong demand for a center that deals with these claims and general support for all genders and sexual orientations.
Feel free to contact me with any further questions.

CCNY Sexual Assault & Gender Resource Center Survey Members of CCNY's student body are pushing for a Gender Resource Center. Although we have the administration's verbal support for the concept, demonstrating a need for a center, through the prevalence of assault cases and student demand, can help make the Center a higher priority. Sexual assault and…

Dear White People screening on Thursday in Aronow!
12/15/2014
Dear Students,
Members of the faculty have grown concerned about how you are thinking about and coping with issues of police brutality, the response of our justice system, and the protests that have occupied so much of our attention and emotional energy these past few weeks. We've noticed many of you with deep concerns and questions. We also know that many of you have felt compelled to join your voice with others in protest.
We'd like to respond. Starting Monday, December 15, we will be holding a series of meetings in the social science conference room (NAC 6/141) to discuss these issues.
We're not calling the meetings talks or teach-ins, because we don't imagine that we'd be in any way instructing you. Rather, think of participating faculty members as resource people: we'll convene a conversation, be on hand to share whatever we know and answer questions, but mainly make some space for students to talk through some of these issues, and to meet others, like yourselves, who are concerned, have questions, or want to talk. We'll post a roster of participating faculty, and the experience and expertise that they bring to the table-from knowledge of critical race theory, to legal expertise, to an understanding of the political context. And you will hopefully attend the meeting or meetings that best to fit your schedule or address your concerns.
Sincerely,
Vince Boudreau
Dean, Colin Powell School for Civic and Global Leadership, CCNY
