Respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) is a common respiratory virus that infects the nose, throat, and lungs. It's usually spread through droplets from an infected person's cough, sneeze, or kiss, or by touching surfaces with the virus and then touching your eyes, nose, or mouth.

RSV is most common in the fall and winter, usually peaking in December and January. It's so common that almost all children will have had it by their second birthday.

Symptoms of RSV include:
Cough
Short, shallow, and rapid breathing
Struggling to breathe
Poor feeding
Unusual tiredness (lethargy)
Irritability

Hurricane Helene
Seidel reported on how the Big Bend of Florida was bracing for the Category 4 storm's landfall near Perry. He also reported on the devastation Helene caused to North Carolina, including a brewery business, and the efforts to help victims.

Hurricane Francine
Seidel reported on the potential life-threatening impacts of the storm on the Gulf Coast from Lafayette, Louisiana.
