Set against the backdrop of the Summer of Sport, join us for a morning of coffee, conversation, and insight into the role of sports in Irish culture, the expansion of American sports programmes in Ireland, and the growing pipeline of Irish students using sports scholarships to pursue education and opportunity in the United States. This Friday, we’ll be joined by Villanova University Graduate Assistant Coach Bronagh Power-Cassidy, Ireland Lacrosse Men's U20 Player Jack Halleron and newly announced panellist Gerrit Meier, Head of NFL International.

Delighted to join our friends at (Aisling Irish Community Center) this past Sunday for their Annual Central Park 5K and Celebration Breakfast.

A great gathering, which also served as wonderful send off for special guest Fergal Mythen, Ireland’s Permanent Representative to the UN, as he finishes his four year term in New York this summer. ☘️🏃

Great celebrations in Pittsburgh yesterday for the launch of Aer Lingus newest direct route between Dublin and Pittsburgh! ☘️ ✈️

Congratulations to all involved in this great launch that will further strengthen people to people, economic and cultural links between Ireland and western Pennsylvania. The new route is already delivering with a Pittsburgh trade delegation heading to Dublin on the inaugural flight.

Consul General Angley and Deputy Consul General Daughen spent Memorial Day in Pittsburgh for a programme of engagements with community leaders, elected representatives, and members of the Irish-American community.

🇺🇸 The day began with a Memorial Day luncheon at the Lawrenceville VFW, hosted by Jim McGinley and attended by Mayor Corey O'Connor.

☘️ The programme continued with a reception at the A.O.H. Division 23 Club attended by Congressman Chris Deluzio, State Rep. Joe McAndrew, and representatives from the AOH, LAOH, Pittsburgh Irish Festival, Pittsburgh Gaelic Athletic Association, PICT Classic Theatre, and the Irish Design Center.

Thank you to everyone for the warm welcome to the Steel City. A special thank you to Honorary Consul Jim Lamb for his continued work in strengthening the bilateral relationship between Ireland and Pittsburgh.

Consul General Gerald Angley was delighted to attend the announcement of the 2026 Mulachy Scholars. 🎓

The Mulachy Scholarship was launched in 2018 by the Aisling Irish Community Center center in tribute to Denis Mulachy and his family’s commitment to Project Children, a charity that for 40 years worked tirelessly to change the lives of children across Northern Ireland. Congratulations to the students honored, and to the AICCC and Project Children for their continued work in this space.

Consul General Angley and Deputy Consul General Daughen were honoured to join Emerald Isle Immigration Center for the revival of the Robert Briscoe Awards. This great event celebrates the historic ties between the Irish and Jewish communities of New York.

This year’s honourees were New York Mets owner and philanthropist Steve Cohen and Archbishop Emeritus of New York, Timothy Cardinal Dolan for their leadership and advocacy for immigrants across the five boroughs and beyond. A great evening for a great cause!
