Throughout the day, participants will learn the fundamentals of campaigning including messaging, fundraising, field strategy, campaign planning, compliance, and more while connecting with a strong network of women leaders across New York.

For 25 years, Eleanor’s Legacy has worked to recruit, train, and support pro choice Democratic women running for office and Campaign Academy continues to be one of the key ways we help build that pipeline.

This morning marked Session 2 of our current Fellowship Program cohort at Eleanor’s Legacy.

Every Thursday morning, we meet with our fellows to hear about the campaigns they have been attached to, the work they are contributing to, and the progress being made throughout the program. These conversations give fellows the opportunity to reflect on their experiences while learning directly from the day to day realities of campaigns and public service.

What makes the Fellowship Program especially meaningful is the hands on connection between fellows and the campaigns they are attached to. Fellows are paired directly with campaigns across New York, giving them real experience and professional exposure inside politics and government. Many participants go on to continue working with the offices, organizations, and campaigns they were introduced to through the program, creating a direct pipeline for young women looking to build careers in public service.

If you are a student or young professional interested in politics, advocacy, communications, campaigns, or government, our Summer Internship Program is a great opportunity to gain hands on experience while working alongside women leaders and change-makers across New York. Whether your interests are in digital media, organizing, policy, fundraising, or campaign operations, the program is designed to give interns meaningful exposure to the political process and the people driving it forward every day.
