Reading recommendation before the movie is out:
Dune by Frank Herbert
“Deep in the human unconscious is a pervasive need for a logical universe that makes sense. But the real universe is always one step beyond logic.”

I saw in Zendaya’s IG that by the end of this year the movie Dune will be out. And then I looked at the cast: Zendaya, Isaak, Chalamet, Bardem. And then I realized that the movie is based on a sci-fi novel by Frank Herbert, the one I’ve heard about so much and have never read. So yes, I’ve started it yesterday, I’m halfway through and fully and absolutely in love. Even though I’m more into fantasy, there is something infectious about Dune, probably the characters, it’s impossible not to feel for them. I’m now even more excited about the movie 🍿

Are you a dreamer?
This is the dedication page from the poetry collection by that I’ve ordered a couple of weeks ago. I rarely buy paper books, preferring to read ebooks or even listening to audio ones, but I love to have poetry on paper, in physical form, as it is something I often return to and consider every page an art piece. Don’t get me wrong, fiction is no less art, but in novels the story as a whole is what important to me, while in poetry every single word makes me feel something.
I actually grew up in a house with a huge library and I honestly adore the atmosphere the paper books give but as I’ve been mostly moving from place to place for the last 7 years and reading more and more books every year, it just doesn’t seem to be a good idea to buy all of them on paper, right now I believe we have no more than 70-80 books at home and if I were to buy every single one I read ... I don’t want even to imagine 😂🙈
What about you? Do you collect paper books?

“The Ocean at the End of the Lane” by Neil Gaiman 🗝
“I’m going to tell you something important. Grown-ups don’t look like grown-ups on the inside either. Outside, they’re big and thoughtless and they always know what they’re doing. Inside, they look just like they always have. Like they did when they were your age. The truth is, there aren’t any grown-ups. Not one, in the whole wide world.”
📝
I enjoy immensely reading Neil Gaiman and a couple of days ago I’ve finished “the ocean at the end of the lane”. It left me in deep melancholic state of mind, I loved it and I am sure I’d follow adventures of one of the characters (Lettie) through other books if only there were some. It’s moody, it’s adventurous, Gaiman kind of dark and yet, filled with hope.
Also, happy catholic Easter, Passover and upcoming orthodox Easter:)

Parisienne perfect apartment we stayed at in February, stunningly styled by our friends .sansnom and Sylvain. I don’t miss restaurants or cinemas or anything like that during the quarantine. What I do really miss is traveling, and I’m glad I had a chance to travel a lot in February before everything went 👎🏼
What it is you miss the most these days?

How many of you did read Jane Eyre? But who of us knows the surprising hidden history behind Charlotte Brontë's Jane Eyre.
Why did Charlotte Brontë go to such great lengths on the publication of her acclaimed, best-selling novel, Jane Eyre, to conceal its authorship from her family, close friends, and the press? In The Secret History of Jane Eyre, John Pfordresher tells the enthralling story of Brontë's compulsion to write her masterpiece and why she then turned around and vehemently disavowed it.
Another cover by talented .casalino ♥️

“Listen to me” by Hannah Pittard
A modern gothic about a marriage and road trip gone hauntingly awry. Haven’t read yet, but sounds atmospheric.
I feel a little disappointed in to how many people reached the interview I did with Catherine, but on the other hand I’m still happy I did it. Instagram show my posts one day to 4K people and the other to 300 🤷🏼‍♀️🙄 If you haven’t seen it, go check my latest story highlight ♥️

One of my favorite book covers by .casalino and it turns out hers as well! I have finally put together and posted the interview with Catherine in my stories and also created the highlight with it. Also added a couple of questions to carousel here, so swipe and see if you want go check out my stories ♥️
I am half through these short stories about adolescence and personally I love it, but well, maybe because my adolescence was actually nice, so I don’t feel too related.
Questions, questions, questions:
Did you ever before read an interview with book cover designer?
And also, how was your middle school? Love or hate? 🙈👾

I don’t know where to start, really.
Ok, let’s start with the photo. This cover was also designed by .casalino , who already answered the questions I had for her and I’m excited to share them with you and maybe inspire to choose a career path. Just have to decide about the format. Give me another day or two.
I made this photo a couple of days ago, and I haven’t read the book yet, but. I think this one needs the right mood, so it will have to wait for a while. It’s “a love letter to women” moving through hard times. This book is a winner of the Drue Heinz literature prize and has 4.26 on goodreads, so I suggest you press save button.
Also, being meaning to ask, how many of you guys are still in school/uni and have no idea what to do with their career?

Dear spring,

I hope your magic will end this insane thing happening to the world. And let our books help us to get through this quarantine while you’re at work.
Thanks goddess, Ostara, isn’t it?
Being atheist as I am, I went all pagan these days for some reason.

Do you guys know how the covers for books are created? Would you like to ask some questions the designer yourself?
Well, then I’ve got an announcement to make! All the books on this photo and many more I’m working with right now are all designed by one person - New York based art director .casalino. And she agreed to answer a few of my questions and landed me a whole pile of books to read and shoot, so wait for it, a ton of bookish material is coming up!
This is one of the bright sides of quarantine fo me - finally I have time to dedicate to my beloved bookstagram ♥️
