Leonie just finished her her internship with Koelnmesse Inc. in Chicago and we would like to share her experiences and impressions. She stayed in the US during the lockdown...

" I will always remember my time in Chicago. When I came here at the end of February, I had many plans and an internship to look forward to. I did really enjoy my internship but had to cancel all my plans and start working from home only two weeks after I arrived in the US. The Covid-19 pandemic made it impossible to go on all the trips that I wanted to do, I could not even do anything in Chicago itself as everything was closed. That made the first few weeks really hard and I thought about going back home to Germany. I did however decide to stay and do not regret it one second. Not only did I get to do all the things that I had planned originally, I also learnt a lot about myself, how much I can endure and that giving up was not an option for me. I am very grateful for the time I got to spend in Chicago and would always return this city that I have really fallen in love with!"

Thank you Leonie for sharing your thoughts and experiences with us. We are happy to see that you used this difficult time to grow and to make the best out of it. We wish you all the best for your future!
