In this next post of our Cannabis Equity Defined series, we are breaking down cannabinoids.🌿

The cannabis plant contains over 100 cannabinoids, natural compounds like THC (known for its psychoactive effects or the "high") and CBD (which is non-psychoactive). These chemicals interact with your body to create different mental and physical effects.

You might see numbers like 1:1 or 4:1 on a label. This is the ratio of one cannabinoid to another. For example, a 1:1 ratio means the product has equal amounts of THC and CBD.

Understanding how these chemicals work helps you make informed choices. Remember, you must be 21 or older to buy, use, or possess cannabis for medical and/or recreational use in New York State.
