On the night of June 1, Russian attacks struck Dnipro, Odesa, Kharkiv and Chernihiv regions of Ukraine, injuring at least 18 civilians, including three children.

In Odesa, six people were injured as residential buildings, private homes, warehouses and civilian infrastructure were damaged by Russia. In the Chernihiv region, eight people, including three children, were injured in attacks on settlements in the Korukivka district.

Four women were injured in Kharkiv, where Russian attack damaged civilian property. In Dnipro, rescuers extinguished a massive fire covering 10,000 square metres after a Russian strike on warehouse facilities.

These attacks demonstrate once again that Russia is choosing war over peace. Ukraine needs more air defence and stronger pressure on Russia to stop this terror.

Happy Kyiv Day! 🇺🇦

The team of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine extends its warmest wishes to everyone who holds Kyiv close to their heart on – the day of a city that has remained the heart of our statehood for centuries.

The streets of Kyiv remember princes, artists, scholars, diplomats, and millions of people who, throughout different periods of Ukrainian history, helped shape the future of our nation – and those who continue to do so today.

Today, on the International Day of UN Peacekeepers, we honour everyone who has dedicated their lives to protecting peace around the world 🇺🇳

For more than three decades, Ukraine has been a reliable contributor to international peacekeeping missions. Since our first participation in 1992, nearly 45,000 Ukrainian servicemen and servicewomen have taken part in more than 27 UN and international operations across the Balkans, Africa, the Middle East, and Central Asia.

Ukrainian peacekeepers helped protect civilians, clear mines, restore infrastructure, transport humanitarian aid, and save lives.

Many of those who once served in peacekeeping missions abroad are now defending Ukraine against Russia's full-scale invasion. Today, Ukrainian soldiers are fighting for the peace, freedom, and security of their own country and people.

We are grateful to all Ukrainian peacekeepers and honour the memory of those who gave their lives in peacekeeping missions.

The decision has been made.

37 states officially approved the agreement necessary to establish the Special Tribunal for the Crime of Aggression against Ukraine and move it towards operation in The Hague. This is a milestone for international justice.

The Tribunal is built on a principle established after the Second World War: those who unleash wars of aggression bear personal responsibility for that decision. Russia’s war against Ukraine did not happen by itself. It was planned, authorised and executed by specific individuals.

They must be held accountable. Because lasting peace is impossible without justice – and aggression must never remain without consequences.

Russian shelling in Kherson killed a father and injured a mother and her two young daughters, according to the National Police of Ukraine on May 27.

Authorities said the 36-year-old woman and her daughters, ages 6 and 3, suffered blast injuries and shrapnel wounds to the head, torso, and limbs. All three were hospitalized and are receiving medical treatment.

The children’s father was killed in the same strike.

Russia’s losses in its war against Ukraine have already exceeded 1.3 million killed and wounded. For any normal country, such figures would be a political shock and a reason to reassess. But not for Russia. No level of casualties seems to act as a limit for the Kremlin, which continues to disregard human life.

This is why the world cannot wait for Russia to stop on its own. It must be forced to stop. Only strong, united international actions – political, military, and economic – can change its course. Over more than four years of its full-scale war, Russia has failed to achieve any of its strategic objectives. It is time to increase pressure on Russia to stop its aggression.

Today, we honour the warriors of the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine – those who carry out the most difficult missions every day, where a cool head, maximum focus, and readiness to act in the most dangerous conditions are crucial.

SOF warriors operate deep behind enemy lines, conduct reconnaissance, destroy critical targets, and create advantages for Ukrainian forces.

Honour to the defenders who gave their lives defending the independence of our state. We thank each and every one who continues to protect the freedom of Ukraine and all of Europe.

Russia struck a United Nations World Food Programme warehouse in Dnipro with an Iskander missile.

Humanitarian aid worth more than $1.4 million, intended for 130,000 people, was completely destroyed.

💬 “This attack is yet another demonstration of Russia’s true attitude toward the UN and its member states, as well as its blatant disregard for the fundamental principles of international humanitarian law.

I call on UN Secretary-General António Guterres to use all available instruments and authority to force Russia to stop these reckless attacks on humanitarian operations,” Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha stressed.

Between February and April 2025, Bernard-Henri Lévy and Marc Roussel traveled across the frontlines of Pokrovsk and Sumy in eastern Ukraine, documenting the daily lives of civilians under bombardment and the courage of Ukrainian soldiers resisting Russian aggression.

Structured as a filmmaker’s logbook, Our War combines footage captured since spring 2022 — and even earlier, from the beginning of Russia’s invasion of Crimea in 2014 — with unprecedented access to the frontlines. The film retraces the major milestones of the largest war on European soil since 1945.

Premiered at the opening of the Cannes Film Festival 2025, screened on French public television, in cinemas across the United States, and at the U.S. Congress, Our War delivers rare and exclusive images that show why Ukraine must — and can — prevail.
