🧗‍♀️🧗🏽‍♀️🧗🏿‍♂️As an NYC Outward Bound and an EL Education school, ADVENTURE is a foundational element of our students’ experience and something that we intentionally plan in annual milestone experiences through out students’ 6-12 journey with us.

Our 8th teacher team is working SUPER hard to put together a NEW milestone adventure experience for our oldest middle schoolers this fall in partnership with Movement LIC and we could use your help!

Please help support by donating whatever you can and/or by spreading the word! Thanks to PTA of MELS for setting up an easy link (in bio) to donate for this specific adventure! 🧗‍♂️🧗🏾‍♀️🧗🏽

Half of our Senior Crews were out at the Alley Pond Adventure Course today for their annual adventure milestone! They were working with their Crews to accomplish goals and also leaning on the support of their Crews as they picked a “challenge by choice” for themselves on different parts of the high ropes course. Adventure is at the core of NYC Outward Bound Schools and EL Education design principles and therefore is a foundational part of the MELS experience. Very proud of our courageous Seniors. The other half of 12th Crews are heading out this Thursday!

First Wednesday of the school year and our teacher crew was already pouring over lesson plans and identifying, sharing and designing instructional practices that align with our work plan goal for this year. Collaborative learning is something we believe in deeply and contrary practice with adults and students. EL Education NYC Outward Bound Schools CIOB Citywide PTA of MELS

————————————————————————————-
