If you’re touring Salem, keep an eye out for some of our projects! One of our notable works is the Salem Courthouse, located in Essex. It is one of three courthouses on Federal Street, built in 1862. The building is a remarkable example of the architectural styles commonly used for public buildings during that time. In 2017, it was granted the Historic Salem Preservation Award. SLS provided life safety consulting services to preserve this part of the city, which boasts of mid-19th to mid-20th century architecture.

Scheduled to open this fall, the Mary Schmidt Campbell Center for Innovation and the Arts will open its doors to the community as the next front porch of Spelman College in Atlanta. The new building, covering an area of 84,000 square feet, will have two collaborative areas on the upper floors, including a central Forum and a light-filled Innovation Lab.

Founded in 1881, Spelman is a historically Black college for women and girls that focuses on liberal arts. This new center will amplify the college’s existing strengths and expand the connection between the arts and technology. At SLS, we are proud to have worked on this project, providing our life safety consulting services and ensuring that the design is code-compliant. We love the opportunity to work on projects that promote education and help to shape the minds of tomorrow.

Let’s start the year with a bang!💥 This exciting project for the Inter Miami CF team will open its doors in 2025 and change the game for soccer in Florida! The 131-acre development will house a new 25,000-seat soccer-specific stadium, youth athletic fields for the community, and a wide variety of entertainment and commercial offerings including hotel, retail spaces, offices, and more. This is especially transcendental for the fútbol scene in Miami, as it will be the largest new park in the city, expanding the boundaries of what a sports complex can be.

Messi’s arrival to the city has revitalized the team and fans can look forward to this new stadium: The Miami Freedom Park!🏟️ SLS offered code consulting services, and it’s currently involved in the design phase. This has allowed us to ensure everything is safe from the get-go.

Looking back at The Landing in New York, it’s great to see a job well done! This project called for a 28-story, 124-unit market-rate condominium tower and a 12-story, 140-unit mixed-income rental building. SLS provided Fire Alarm System Testing, Inspections, Fire Alarm Affidavit Testing, Code Consulting and a Temporary Certificate of Occupancy ( ) status to ensure the smooth completion of the new two-building residential project at Brooklyn Bridge Park’s Pier 6, in southern Brooklyn Heights.

Great news for fans! The team will soon have a new, on-campus football operations center, designed by HOK and Arquitectonica. This seven-story building will connect to the existing Carol Soffer Indoor Practice Facility and expand over 172,000 square feet of space. provided consulting for life safety, fire protection, smoke control analysis, and more. This project is a game-changer!

After our site visit to the UPS Facility in Miami Gardens, we created phasing drawings and reports, test scenarios, and implemented a performance-based design approach to ensure the quality and safety of this all-steel, two-platform construction.
