Happy Pride Month From NYC CORE. Pride Month is more than a celebration—it is a reminder that progress has always been driven by courageous people willing to challenge injustice.
This month, the New York City Commission on Racial Equity honors the changemakers, visionaries, and radical rebel-rousers who refused to accept discrimination as the status quo. From the fight for LGBTQ+ liberation to the struggle for racial justice, economic dignity, and human rights, these movements have always been interconnected.
We celebrate those who understood that freedom is not selective. The same spirit that challenged segregation, discrimination, and inequality also fueled the fight for q***r liberation. Their legacy reminds us that justice for one community strengthens justice for all communities.

NYC CORE held a press conference today in front of Trump Towers to reject Trump’s push for Reparations for January 6 rioters and to demand NYC fully fund Reparations initiatives under local law 91 & 92.
While Trump is pushing for Reparations for criminals, NYC must push to truly repair for the generations of systemic racial harms caused by slavery in New York City.

Shoutout to for highlighting the ongoing conversations around race, equity, and accountability in New York City. NYC CORE remains committed to ensuring that the city’s racial equity plan does not move away from addressing race directly, particularly the lived realities of Black and brown communities. Through town halls, public feedback, and community engagement across the five boroughs, we will continue pushing for a racial equity framework rooted in truth, transparency, and justice. Join us!!!

Big thanks to Amsterdam News for covering our 5-borough Preliminary Racial Equity Plan listening tour. In 2022, New Yorkers went to the ballot box to make clear that racial equity matters in NYC — and we remain committed to amplifying their voices and advancing that vision across all five boroughs.
