Why transfer of Kanu from DSS custody must be done without delay –

Simon Ekpa, one of the disciples of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra, has urged the Federal Government to facilitate the transfer of Kanu from the custody of Department of State Services DSS to the Nigerian Correctional Service Centre in Kuje, Abuja.

DAILY POST had reported that Kanu’s lawyer, Ifeanyi Ejiofor, on Wednesday filled a cases against the FG government at a Federal High Court Abuja alleging that the fugitive who is currently detained at the custody of DSS, is been maltreated by the secret police.

Ejiofor who said the health of his client is deteriorating, prayed the court to ordered Kanu’stransfer for easy access by his personal physician.

Radio Biafra: IPOB confirms Simon Ekpa as reporter on group’s media platform

Reacting, Ekpa who was recently appointed by IPOB to broadcast on the Radio Biafra pending the release of their leader, said the transfers must be done without wasting time.

According to him, the Federal Government must not violate Kanu’s right to life by holding him despite his health challenges.

He stated this on Wednesday evening via a post on his official page.

The post reads, “The transfer of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu from DSS must be done without wasting time any further.

“As the conspiracy of the Fulanis terrorists controlled FG are on top gear, he must be allowed to take care of his health or attend to his health.

“It is his fundamental rights and if all other rights has been so far violated with impunity, this particular rights to healthcare and rights to independence doctors of his choice must not be violated.

“It is expected that all Biafrans and well wishers join in this call.

Simon Ekpa, one of the disciples of Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, has revealed that the secessionist group would soon launch its social medial platform.

Ekpa, in a video on his official page, said the move became necessary due to hitches from Facebook and Twitter while disseminating vital information that bothers on the Biafra struggle.

The Finnish accused Facebook of stopping him from going Live on the medium, saying the platform is frustrating their activities.

He said, “Because of the way Facebook is frustrating everything we do, including the one they call their community standard, we will continue to use ‘enterbiafra’ until our social media platform is launched.

“Our social media platform will be launched by our leader Nnamdi Kanu and until then”.

" Isa Pantami’s intention has unsettled some Nigerians online, who said it was suspicious that a minister with extremist views dragged a secular Nigeria into an alliance of Muslims ".

Isa Pantami, Nigeria’s communications minister whose dangerous religious and political views, including a declaration of support to Osama bin Laden, the Taliban and Al Qaeda, have continued to unsettle Nigerians, has dragged his secular country into an alliance of Islamic countries.

Mr Pantami signed Nigeria up for the membership of Digital Cooperation Organisation (DCO), a group that includes strictly Islamic countries. Mr Pantami did not throw the matter up for public debate in Nigeria, where a virtually equal number of Muslims and Christians would have properly looked at the implication of the country’s membership before taking a decision. The minister appeared to have on his own, presumably with the backing of President Muhammadu Buhari, whose dangerous religious and ethnic agenda has long been documented.

In a chain of key objectives listed on its website, DCO said its first aim was to collect and share data across the member countries towards digital economic prosperity.

The body said it aimed to optimise “policy and regulatory frameworks to expand cross-border data flows and digital trade among DCO members.” Other potential benefits of the group include a plan to “reduce the digital divide across the DCO” and also to “align approaches to engagement and negotiations with private sector actors.”

The DCO listed its membership countries as the Kingdom of Bahrain, the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, the State of Kuwait, the Federal Republic of Nigeria, the Sultanate of Oman, the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The DCO said the countries were brought together because of their common “vision, strategic goals, and shared values.”

But Mr Pantami’s intention has unsettled some Nigerians online, who said it was suspicious that a minister with a proven history of extremist views would seek to drag a secular Nigeria into an alliance of Muslim countries.

“I can’t recollect any public stakeholder consultation on this matter. No matter how hard you try to spin it, a minister with extremist antecedents signing Nigeria up for a group that comprises only Islamic countries is going to be viewed more about religion than the economy,” Amara Nwankpa, a policy expert based in Abuja, said on Twitter Wednesday morning.

Mr Pantami disclosed Nigeria’s intention to join the organisation in April, but the minister has provided little information to guide Nigerians on the benefits of the alliance.

Mr Pantami’s failure to elaborate might be traceable to his role as the custodian of Nigerian’s personal data. Since late 2020, the minister has been on an aggressive push to collect personal data of Nigerians, including their biometric information for telephone lines and a national identity card.

Mr Pantami continued his controversial campaign despite revelations months ago that he held extremist views that would make millions of citizens uncomfortable with having him at the helm of data collection. Excerpts of the minister’s past controversial sermons included his thirst for the blood of unbelievers, a campaign to drive Christian minorities from their ancestral lands in central Nigeria and his role at a meeting that debated assassination of a Christian governor in the Muslim-dominated northern region.

Mr Pantami also said he considered Osama bin Laden a better Muslim than himself in 2006, years after the infamous Al Qaeda leader masterminded the killing of over 3,000 Americans on September 11, 2001.

Mr Pantami denied being a fundamentalist, but did not recant his vicious views as a Muslim preacher in northern parts of the country between mid and late 2000s. Mr Buhari swiftly rallied behind him rejecting public pressure to sack the minister.

The minister did not return a request seeking comments about why he enlisted Nigeria in DCO. An email to DCO was not immediately returned Wednesday morning.

SSS kidnapped and accuses Israeli filmmakers of supporting IPOB, detains them in torture cells

"The Israeli were in Nigeria to shoot a documentary which explores Jewish communities in African countries such as Kenya, Madagascar and Nigeria."

The State Security Service (SSS) has arrested, detained and reportedly tortured three Israeli filmmakers over allegations that they supported the activities of Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).

Times of Israel reported that a Zionist activist, Rudy Rochman, filmmaker Noam Leibman and French-Israeli Journalist E. David Benaym were arrested last week when they visited Ogidi village, Idemili North Local Government Area of Anambra State to shoot a documentary.

The trio was said to have taken off from Ben Gurion Airport, Israel on July 5 and arrived in Nigeria the following day to film the documentary, “We Were Never Lost” which explores Jewish communities in African countries such as Kenya, Madagascar, Uganda, and Nigeria.

Locals said the SSS operatives interrogated and detained the crew at a synagogue during Friday night services in Ogidi and were subsequently taken to Abuja.

“We do not take any position on political movements as we are not here as politicians nor as a part of any governmental delegations”, a post on the “We Were Never Lost” page partly read as the shoot came on the heels of the arrest and repatriation of IPOB leader, Nnamdi Kanu from Kenya.

Nigeria’s foreign ministry was said to have confirmed the arrest on Tuesday and noted that the Israeli Embassy in Abuja was following up on the case, although Peoples Gazette could not reach the ministry for confirmation.

A spokesman for the SSS also declined comments about the arrest and claims of torture.

In 2018, Mr Kanu who was first arrested in October 2015 by the Nigerian government declared that he was Jewish after he was granted bail in April 2017.


The British-Nigerian citizen had publicly said he “owed his survival to the state of Israel.”

While he fled Nigeria to Israel in 2018, the IPOB leader said Israel must rise to defend millions of Igbo Jews in Nigeria, after soldiers invaded his residence.

“Israel has to live up to their obligation to defend Judaism and Jewish faith all over the world,” he said.

“We are being persecuted. We are suffering as a people and I believe it is the responsibility of Israel to make sure that Biafra stands as an independent entity in Africa.”

“Biafra has over 70 million people scattered all over the world. They have called us the wandering Jews of Africa. Those that identify themselves with their Jewish heritage are about 50 million people,” he added.

Mr Kanu was again arrested in June this year and arraigned at the Federal High Court, Abuja, where the court ordered that he be remanded until the continuation of his trial set for July 26.

He faces an 11-count charge of treason, treasonable felony, terrorism, and illegal possession of fi****ms, among others.

Yes Biafra is the problem of Nigeria, because everything that is wrong in Nigeria is the ramifications of the Biafran struggle.

From 1945 when the first crisis and the killing of the igbos or people from the Eastern region started in Jo's, Nigeria has never stopped killing the igbos or people from the east till date.

Injustice, tribalism, religious fanatism, nepotism and corruption is the problem of Nigeria. From the amalgamation date till today, Nigeria had never been one country. Not because we can not live together as one, but because the leaders had perfected. Tribalism, religion, and corruption as tools of governce, this is the problem of Nigeria.

There is no Nigerian, yes you heard me right, there is no Nigerian. We have igbo , Yoruba, Hausa, Tiv, ijaw persons etc, before being a Nigerian. Not because we are all tribalistic no, but because there is no sense of patriotism that unites us to the country Nigeria. The leaders of the country started playing ethnic politics, as if that is not enough they added religion to the already charged atmosphere. And Nigeria died in every individual, because everybody is identified to what makes him or her proud. There is nothing anybody is proud of as a Nigerian, no matter your tribe. I have seen in other countries where people express their love for their countries, with emotions and devotion. But I have never seen a Nigerian with this emotional display, the only time you can see this kind of emotion, is during sports and after that everybody goes his own way. The Nigerian population are not the problem, because I can tell you that among Nigerians. We love ourselves, I have friends across the country, in fact I think that if I visit every part of the country today, I will not sleep in hotels because my friends will consider it insult or act of disrespect for me to sleep in hotel instead of their houses. The problem with the country is that the leaders has perfected the acts of turning the ingenious ones against their fellow citizens. In exchange for peanuts, as is the situation in any society where there is hunger a poor and hungry citizen is ready to do anything for a meal. Poverty is the reason the elites is prospering in Nigeria, they had succeeded in impoverishing the masses. To extent that these masses actually think that their conditions are caused by the devil. This is why places of worships are feeled to the brim, they are looking for answers to their problems. Without knowing that, their problems are caused by the people in government not the devil or God.

When you analyse what the Biafrans are going through in Nigeria today, you will agree with me that Biafra is the true example of all the problems in Nigeria.

As somebody from the Eastern region, there are some positions you can never occupy in Nigeria, no matter how qualified you are for the position. There is no working seaports , in Eastern region, because the government closed them dowm. If you pay $3000 dollars to ship container from China to Nigeria, after clearance. You will pay up to the same amount or even more to transport them down to the east. And in the process of transporting it, you will meet hundreds of police, customs, in fact all the security agencies has checking points on the road to the east. You will be forced to pay some certain amount of money, for a container that was duly cleared at the seaport. It is undisputed fact that the numbers of security checking points is higher than the number, put together for the rest of the country even though that the Eastern region occupy the smallest land in the country.

Going in and out of the country, whether through land or air boarder is among the toughest task you can imagine, because ones they see your name you are in for a big deal. At the end all they are interested is, how much they are able to squeeze out from you because they believe that you are a business person, as such you have too much money to throw around. Employments into federal agencies or ministries is a dream for many from the east, even when you are employed, you must go through hell to be promoted. There are various cases of people from the east who had to change their names, to get employment or recruitment into federal agencies. The south easterners are the only people who contributes the highest in the development of any area, they are doing businesses. In fact they consider the area as their homes, this is why they buy land and build houses all over the places they are living. Unlike other tibes in Nigeria, but even at this that their property is not safe. They are targeted and told in a clear terms that these their properties is not theirs, in their own country. The quota system in Nigeria only works in admitions into higher institutions, that is if you are from the South and scored 250 marks, somebody from the North will get admission before with 80 marks. Because they are considered educational disadvantaged, even though that they have the same materials, teachers and opportunities if not better than you. But when it comes for employments people from the south who are more educated according to the system, are not given the same opportunity to get the employment. Even though the same quota system applies, the ill educated from the north's are given preferences. This is the reason that the majority of northern persons who are living outside Nigeria are those working with the government.

After the genocide, which was committed against the easterners, the federal government. Seized all the money of easterners and only gave them 20 pounds, irrespective of how much you may have had in the bank before the war. There had never been any reparation in the East after the war, unlike what is obtained today in the North. Where the government is actually paying people for killing ordinary Nigerians, the government is spending huge sums of money. In reparations in the North, not minding the facts that these destructions are caused by the northerners themselves. International airports in the whole Eastern region, are through governments actions or inactions not working. As such if you are coming in or going out of the country through the airports. You must either go to Abuja or Lagos thereby incurring extra cost. Not minding the fact that people from the Eastern region are 60 % of international travellers in Nigeria. People from the Eastern region are killed all over the country and nothing is done, it seems that this has become normal way of life in the country.

For these above but not limited to them, is the reason I stand among my people restoration of Biafra,to restore Biafra is the best way to honour those. Who out of honour for prestige, human dignity and justice. Fought and died in the Biafran genocide between 1967 to 1970, To restore Biafra is best way to honour those who had died in all the senseless attacks against people from the Eastern region from 1945 in Jo's till today. Your sacrifice, your courage, your resolve to stand up against evil, has humbled my spirit, your deaths are sacrifices that will never be forgotten. And also I want to tell you that the situations you fought for has not changed, instead it has become worst. But that spirit that led you to fight and die has never left us, we will honour your spirits by getting that wish you fought and died for.

Trauma as EFCC operatives sn**ch hotel master key at gunpoint, break into rooms with guests naked

"Many foreigners, including some potential investors, were caught in the “violent and uncivilised conduct” of the operatives, who were about two dozen, The Gazette learnt."

Operatives of the EFCC on Tuesday violently seized access cards and broke into hotel rooms in an overnight raid in Lagos, Peoples Gazette has learnt.

Dozens of hotel guests were left traumatised after anti-graft agents breached their privacy at Parktonian Hotel in Lagos affluent Lekki neighbourhood, witnesses said.

Many of the guests, including couples, were passing the night at the mid-size hotel when EFCC agents broke in at about 4:00 a.m. Some of them said they were naked under the duvet when agents broke in and were not even allowed to dress up before being interrogated by the officers, who said they were on a manhunt for suspected Internet fraudsters.

“The officers broke into my hotel room as I was sleeping,” a victim told The Gazette on Tuesday afternoon. “The incident that played out was just too traumatic for me to narrate.”

The witness said the officers started breaking into rooms after collecting the master access card to open all rooms from the management at gunpoint.

“They broke into the hotel and threatened to shoot the receptionists and management if they didn’t immediately release the master access card to them,” a witness said. “So the hotel workers had to comply immediately.”

Another witness who narrated his ordeal described it as “embarrassing and traumatising,” as he was unclad when operatives barged into the room.

Many foreigners, including some potential investors who came into the country to carry out preliminary studies on a cable manufacturing project, were caught in what witnesses described as “violent and uncivilised conduct” of the operatives, who were about two dozen.


The victim pleaded strict anonymity to avoid being victimised by EFCC agents. Some witnesses had previously reported being physically attacked by EFCC operatives for providing information about illegal and corrupt raids to the media.

“They continued to search other rooms. They went away with about 13 occupants,” he said. “I was naked, and I had to beg them (for me) to put something on. I am actually hypertensive, but I put myself together because I am not a criminal in any way.”

He described the experience as “embarrassing and traumatic,” noting that “nobody wants to sleep in a hotel where their privacy and security cannot be guaranteed.”

The witness added, “I am not going back to that hotel. They won’t go to Transcorp where people who are looting Nigeria’s money are staying.”

The hotel owner, Obinna Obiora, told The Gazette that he would comment on the matter later. The Gazette could not immediately confirm whether or not the officers had a warrant to invade the hotel.

When contacted by The Gazette, the spokesperson for the anti-graft agency, Wilson Uwujaren, claimed he was unaware of the raid.

“I haven’t got any report of such, but I’ll confirm from the Lagos office if there was any raid,” Mr Uwujaren told The Gazette over the telephone.

Controversial raids of public and private spaces have become increasingly common amongst EFCC officers in recent months. The department was established to fight economic crimes, but it has recently retooled itself towards a relentless crackdown on suspected Internet thieves, widely known as Yahoo Boys.


Earlier this year, an unidentified man jumped from the seventh floor of a storey building located at 1004 estate at Victoria Island, Lagos, during a raid by EFCC officials.

Last week, a similar incident played out at Oasis Park Estate, Osapa London, Lagos, where EFCC operatives frightened residents when they broke into homes in search of a purported Internet crook, who was not even around at the time of the raid, The Gazette learnt.

With this evidence, it is now a fact, no more a controversy, that the Nigerian authorities abducted Kanu from Kenya with the collaboration of the Kenyan authorities.

Some Nigerians have been led to believe that because of the neo-colonialist interests of UK in Nigeria, that the UK will on open issues like this one compromise some values in order to keep Nigeria one.

They believed falsely that the UK will risk it's integrity, and defy international laws to cover up the atrocities of the Nigerian government against Nnamdi Kanu but they forgot that despite the fact that above 100,000 people have died as a result of terrorism, that UK has refused to sell arms to Nigeria because of its human rights violations.

On a second ground, they argued that Nigeria can manage to flout international laws in the protection of their own parochial interests. As such they can violate international treaties on arrest and extradition in the case of Nnamdi Kanu because Nigeria is a sovereign state. They make examples with Osama bin laden and his assassination by the US government.

This distemper and wrong notion in the minds of many Nigerians will form the anchor for a set up. Nnamdi Kanu used this naive ignorance against them.

First, he made himself a FOOL;
Secondly he made knowledge a TOOL.

Francis Bacon said that knowledge is power, since Nigerians believed that UK can joke with their citizen in order to cover up a poor and wretched country like Nigeria led by half idiots, then Nnamdi Kanu knows he can use this false assumption for a greater purpose.

The UK, if they cannot sell you arms to fight terrorism because of human rights abuses cannot cover you up when you break another international law openly at least?

Moreover, IPOB families all over the world are filing papers, evidences and lawsuits against the federal government thereby making it impossible for Nigerian authorities to cover up the issue. In this case nobody would like to stand with Nigeria.

The cabals believe that Nnamdi Kanu is the cause of the problems in Nigeria and that in fact the greatest crises Nigeria is facing is secession. But UK does not see it that way and that is why some people are giving many wrong interpretations to it.

UK does not see Nnamdi Kanu nor secession as the problem of Nigeria. In fact they are beginning to see it as a solution and that is what Nnamdi Kanu was fighting for. They rather see the incompetence of the authorities as the major problem. So they cannot risk useful resources in tracking Nnamdi Kanu who is not a problem of theirs.

Nnamdi Kanu knows how functional law is in the UK more than the cabals in Nigeria who are
more inclined to lawlessness. The fact is that the Nigerian government has been successfully manipulated. They enjoyed a momentous victory which vanished even before it started.

If this is a setup, then it is one of the most interesting act of intelligence in the history of Africa. How is it possible that a single man brought down the reputation of a so called giant without trying too hard?

All these are happening like a James Bond movie. Right now, we have seen who the liars are and who the masters are. The next we are going to see is who actually holds the power. Does Nnamdi Kanu possess more power than the Nigerian government even in prison?
