According to the National Fire Protection Agency (NFPA), nearly 3,500 fires occur annually in U.S. office buildings.
The NFPA reports that these fires, on average, kill at least four civilians, injuring 44 others, and cause 112 million dollars in property damage!

Since the Life Safety Code (NFPA 101) creation, sprinkler systems are viewed as the "minimum established level of expected care." In short, the public and the courts expect your building to have fire sprinklers no matter what the codes say. Building owners that do not meet that expectation may open themselves up to additional liability in the case of significant fire loss.

According to the NFPA, there are three types of income tax deductions available to businesses that have fire sprinkler-equipped buildings:
