Founded in 1982 by two university professors who saw a great need among the many homeless people in their neighborhood. We operate a pantry for food staples.

Together they started a temporary – or so they thought – soup kitchen open to anyone who needed sustenance. But just serving a meal is often not enough. One of the benefits of being there for our guests each and every Saturday for over 25 years is that we are often the most dependable thing in their lives, lives usually filled with great uncertainty. We have worked hard to earn their trust, which

Happy Memorial Day from our family to yours… it’s was a chilly and wet day but our amazing volunteers turned out to offer service with a smile. Not to mention creative (and yummy) cupcakes and cake pops as an extra treat!

We could not allow Volunteer Appreciation week to pass without taking you back a few decades to the 1990’s. Long before people used cell phones and before social media even existed, Meatloaf was serving more than 500 lunches every week. These are some of the faces who kept us going week after week (you may even recognize a few). Please join us in giving them a long overdue thank-you!

We just wanted to take a moment and show love to the people who keep us going every week since 1982! While we could never recognize every Meatloafer for the part they play, we hope you enjoy these memories from the past few months and know that each of you is appreciated by our guests!

Spring cleaning time at Meatloaf! A small but energetic group of volunteers came out to sort, organize and clean out our storage spaces and supplies. Knowing what we have in stock and where to find them is vital to making sure we do the most we can for our guests. Thank you for showing up and making this happen!
