**Important*** Due to inclement weather the Bay Ridge Center will be closed tomorrow Tuesday January 26th. The Bay Ridge Senior Center, at 6935 4th Avenue in Brooklyn, New York, held activities from September 20 - 26, to coincide with Falls Prevention Week. Events included a Walk-a-Thon, a balance exercise class, and both interactive and video presentations aimed at providing seniors with the skills they need to avoid falls. We'd like to thank Sheba Ebhote, the health promotions specialist at Bay Ridge, for sharing with us photos from the week's schedule.

Our 2014 Spring Raffle is underway. Our lucky winner will receive a cool $10,000. Tickets are being sold at $100 each but only 200 tickets will be sold. Buy a ticket or split the purchase of a ticket with friends. Our winner will be announced at our annual Night at the Races event taking place Friday, June 6th. See our flyer in the photo section and spread the word. Seats will fill up quickly and it's always a great event. Support your community and have a galloping good time as well.

Our new wheels!!! Pretty sweet. Thank you to Senator Golden and Empire State Development for making this happen. Our members and staff are very excited to get back on the road with even more events and outings. If you haven't checked our center out, please stop by and check out all the new activities and classes we've added.

Get your walking shoes on!!! This Saturday is our 18th annual Bay Ridge Center Walkathon Suport our seniors. If you can't walk please give a donation. Our seniors need your help!
