Community organization providing search-and-rescue and disaster services also proudly sponsoring Explorer Post 185. www.metro-fire.org
Metropolitan Fire is a registered 501 (c) (3) nonprofit organization that sponsors an Explorer Post that mentors boys and girls ages 14-18 years old. The teens are exposed to all aspects of emergency services including but not limited to Fire, Police and EMS. Along with sponsoring the Explorer Post, Metropolitan also functions as a disaster unit within the confines of New York City and will activate to assist the city agencies and residents during times of emergency.

A very big thank you to Have A Heart Foundation of Staten Island for their generous donation to North Shore Rescue Squad
We were proud to present a grant of $600 to the Metropolitan Fire Association to fund a CPR/AED class for their Explorers post. Metro Fire provides hands-on firefighting and EMS training to the Explorers, comprised of youth ages 13 to 18.
We are happy to assist them as they conduct these lifesaving trainings!

Run Announcement - Mile 2,075 (Matthew's 32nd Mile)
On Sunday afternoon, January 4th, Matthew will be running one mile (weather permitting) carrying the Freedom Flag in honor of fallen New York Police Department - NYPD (NY) Detective Herbert Fonseca.
The run will take place at 12:00 Noon Eastern Time in Staten Island, New York, though we encourage folks from across the nation join us by taking a 1-mile walk or run in your own communities to honor this fallen hero.
