This weekend, Annual Czech-Slovak Festival at Bohemian Hall & Beer Garden is in full swing! Make sure to come by on Saturday and Sunday for Czech music and traditions as well as great Czech gastronomy!
The opening was attended by Czech Consul General Karel Smékal, followed by amazing performances of children from Czech and Slovak Language Center Astoria. 🇨🇿🎵

American Airlines launched its first direct flight between Philadelphia and Prague today. ✈️ The inaugural ceremony at PHL Airport was attended by Consul General Karel Smékal.

The new connection is set to significantly enhance cultural and business ties between the Czech Republic and the US 🇨🇿🇺🇸 as well as boost tourism exchange.

A memorable highlight of the event was a musical and dance performance by children from the Comenium Czech and Slovak School outstandingly representing our community.

Last night, we hosted an engaging talk by Filip Šír from the Národní muzeum in Prague at the Bohemian National Hall, focusing on the wartime exile of the legendary Czech comic duo Voskovec and Werich in the United States.🇨🇿🇺🇸🎙️

The presentation featured newly uncovered archival materials and recordings of their secret anti-Nazi radio broadcasts transmitted directly to occupied Europe. Attendees had a unique opportunity to explore these rare audio documents. 📜🎧

Last night, we gathered at The Union League of Philadelphia for an inaugural event to mark tomorrow’s official launch of American Airlines’ new direct route to Prague. Co-hosted alongside the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Washington, DC, Visit Czechia, CzechInvest, Prague Airport - Letiště Praha, and Prague City Tourism, the evening highlighted the fantastic opportunities this connection will bring to both business and tourism.
