We are saddened to hear the news that Yuri Kochiyama, one of the great forebears of the Asian American movement, has passed. There is no doubt that her work, spirit, and legacy will continue to inform and inspire our generation's work for racial justice in and beyond the Asian American community.
May our movement do justice to her vision.
Tonight we are sad to hear the news that one of our great movement elders has passed on. Rest in power, Yuri Kochiyama. May we continue to honor how you have touched our lives, and continue our work in your spirit.
