The Vera Fellows Program is a collaborative project between John Jay College of Criminal Justice, the Vera Institute of Justice, and Vera’s spinoff agencies.
The program provides a unique internship and academic experience for outstanding undergraduate students at John Jay College who have a demonstrated commitment to social justice and public service. Those of you who are in law school are also welcome to the Alumni Seminar Event to discuss your experiences and where they feel like they are leading; as you know, many Fellows are planning on applying to law school, so this would be very valuable!
Remember the early days of seminar? We all enjoyed the conversation and our placement, but had no idea of where it was about to take us...
On Thursday November 15, from 10-12, we would love to get the alumni together who are working in the social justice world, or are in grad school doing research relevant to it. We'll talk to the current fellows, a brilliant group with a great sense of humor, about real world problems that we've encountered either in doing research, delivering services, or creating policy.

I just came back from a meeting with the 28 year old entrepreneur Alexa Von Tobel, founder and CEO of LearnVest, recently named one of Inc. Magazines "Top 30 entrepreneurs under 30."
