Giving Tuesday is here — and every dollar you give to Queens Community House is TRIPLED today.
Across Queens, neighbors of all ages are turning to QCH for support during some of their toughest moments. From youth opportunities to older adult services, housing support, and community programs, your gift fuels it all.
Our Board is matching all gifts 3 to 1 until midnight. That means:
• $25 becomes $75
• $50 becomes $150
• $100 becomes $300
Your support goes three times as far to strengthen individuals and families across Queens.
Give today and triple your impact — and help us spread the word!

starts tomorrow — and every dollar will be TRIPLED for Queens families.
Rising food costs mean more neighbors are coming to Queens Community House for help than ever before.
Give early, give tomorrow, give what you can — it all goes 3X as far. ❤️

Monday's event at NYU Kimmel Center was a roaring success. Magda's dance class performed as part of the United Nation's General Assembly's Healing Arts Week. To encapsulate the symposium's findings, art's effect on health, healing and general well-being is as profound as professional psychological interventions. And our dancers proved that with their inspirational and well-received performance.

The weather was exceptional for our Fire Island trip on Tuesday. On one of the rare times the clouds dimmed the sunshine, you can see where the shade was best, as the row of chair is filled with our wise members. The ocean was too fierce to go in the water, so the pool got a lot of play. Thanks for The Network for supporting the event. Thanks to all the kind workers at the Ice Palace in Cherry Grove and the Sayville Ferry.

There are still a few seats on the bus/ferry to Cherry Grove, but they're filling fast. The date is Tuesday, August 19th and the bus leaves Jackson Heights at 8:45 AM. It's just $55. Thanks to The Network for supporting our event!

Wednesday, we had a volunteer party for the birthday-party and other special-event volunteers. It was almost impossible to get them not to cut the cakes. That's exactly why they deserved to be spotlighted. They are always the first to ask if we need assistance at the Queens Center for Gay Seniors. Thanks, ladies and gentlemen.

Tuesday's Breakfast and Bagels and a Presentation about Summer Safety: How to Have a Mosquito Free Summer. So Monday in my absence, Kelz led a Make a Mosquito, Build a Bug, Arts and Crafts with Kelz activity. First prize went to Bob (Citronella Candle) second place to Susan C. (Can of Off) and Third Place to Dinyar (Bug Repellant bracelet). I love that they also made larvae.

If there was ever a day for you to come to or come back to the Queens Center for Gay Seniors, Wednesday, March 19th is the day. Come sample our classes, connect with old or new friends, enjoy a bagel and then lunch, and enter a raffle to win gift certificates to local shops. A good time guaranteed, as we reach out especially to LGBTQ seniors at our Big Gay Open House.

We had some visitors bearing gifts today. Five representatives from three LGBT bars in Astoria (Icon, Albatross, and Kween) dropped by with a check for $500 that they raised during pride month. Thank you!
