Very cool to see the official release of these sessions I recorded live to tape at Seaside Brooklyn back in 2010. Nina is one of the great American songwriters and I was already a fan when I walked into the studio one morning and found a message about recording her on the studio answering machine. Available on her Bandcamp page along with her other LP’s (beautifully captured by Steve Albini), which if you like songs with words, you really need to hear. Run to Ruin is my personal favorite but they are all worth your time.

Fun day of tracking drums, shruti box, 1920’s Ludwig bass drum, and metal stuff we found in the barn for the next LP.

Testing the Ecoplate plate reverbs before they go to their permanent homes out of the way upstairs. We’ll have to run up stairs every time we want to adjust the dampers but that’s part of the fun.

Look who stopped by to frame out the new live room wall. It’s Seaside OG Josh Clark! Exactly 20 years ago we were building the A room on 18th Street in Park Slope. Pretty fun to be building a studio again with this guy - too bad he has to go back to western Mass and can’t help me finish the drywall.

Our great-sounding, reliable, Sony / MCI 36-channel analog console needs a new home. Reverb link in bio - pass it along!
