MDCNY unequivocally condemns the Islamophobic attacks targeting Democratic Mayoral Candidate Zohran Kwame Mamdani.

These attacks are not just assaults on one individual, they are assaults on every Muslim and every New Yorker who believes in justice, inclusion, and democracy.

By weaponizing anti-Muslim hatred for political gain, Zohran’s opponents, including former disgraced Governor Andrew Cuomo and current disgraced Mayor Eric Adams, are endangering communities, stoking fear, and creating conditions for real violence.

We stand with Zohran Mamdani and with all those who refuse to be silenced by bigotry and hate. Islamophobia and anti-Muslim rhetoric have no place in our politics, our communities, or our city.

Our collective safety lies in our solidarity. We call on all elected officials to speak out and condemn these violent and Islamophobic attacks.
