Stonewall National Monument has been named one of the National Trust for Historic Preservation’s “11 Most Endangered Historic Places” for 2026 — a powerful reminder that the fight to preserve LGBTQ+ history is far from over.

Stonewall stands among them not because its story is finished, but because its legacy must continue to be protected, told honestly, and shared with future generations.
