2013年1月11日，於聯合國網合集團展示會議廳，舉辦中美商務交流會活動，以下內容為聯合國副秘書長南威哲先生在會上中英文對照的發言內容。

聯合國副秘書長南威哲先生表示：首先，我感謝聯合國網合集團林啟樵先生，邀請我參加此次聯合國商務文化活動。我沒想到今天能來出席，因為最近我聯合國事務有一系列不同的會議。我之前的聯合國辦公室就在網合集團辦公室的隔壁工作，在這個聯合國大樓辦公了將近有6個月時間。讓我最感到快樂又感到無比榮幸地參加了聯合國網合集團所舉辦的多個文化交流活動，林啟樵先生是致力於增進中美雙方文化理解的發展，促進聯合國人道主義救濟，把中國系列文化書畫音樂帶上聯合國的舞臺，這種精神給我留下了深刻的印象。我本人已為印度國家在外交服務工作了接近38年，也曾有幸在印度駐中國大使館工作了近4年，實際上，我的職業生涯也始於中國，在70年代，我曾在中國工作過。過去幾十年來，我一直很欣賞中國的文化，從某種意義上說，在聯合國大樓辦公期間，認識林啟樵先生及他的聯合國網合工作人員又讓我重新認識、感受到了中國偉大文化的氛圍。在過去的六年裏我一直擔任聯合國副秘書長工作，自去年4月以來，我開始擔任緬甸國家事務秘書處的特別顧問。因此，目前我主要集中力量處理聯合國與緬甸國家事務的各方面關系，鼓勵緬甸的一些政策改革。不過我還是會參加一些關於聯合國規模較大的活動。林啟樵先生曾向我表示他有興趣參與聯合國的千年計劃工作，我也鼓勵他與聯合國許多不同的部門取得聯系，糧農部門，新能源發展與合作。包括人道主義援助事務部辦公室，這是一個全球性的人道救援組織，最近他們正在幫助包括敘利亞和非洲的許多國家地區。還有我最近一直參與的緬甸國家規劃城市建設問題。今天我來這想表示我對聯合國網合林啟樵先生所辦各式商務文化活動的表示認同和感謝他所做出的貢獻，他牽頭幫助世界各國企業地更好地了解中國的文明，促進中美不同社會組織、企業集團更好的合作。另外，我希望林啟樵先生及他辦的聯合國商務這些活動，能夠鼓勵越來越多的團體共同為聯合國做出積極的貢獻，謝謝大家。

Mr. Lin: We welcome Mr. Vijay Nambiar, who is the Under General Secretary of the UN. He took the time out to come and say hi and see how we were doing here. He’s personally very interested in this type of topic which is the East meets west, business and cultural. We here at UNCG and all of our capacities are also promoting the United Nations Millennial Goals including economics. We want you to say a few words.

Mr. Nambiar: Let me first of all thank Mr. Lin for asking me to be present here. I must say that I didn’t expect to be able to be present today because of a series of meetings I have had. My office was very close to this office here for some time, for almost about 6 months. I have had both the pleasure and the honor of being present for numerous cultural occasions here and I must admit that I have been uniformly impressed by the dedication and the commitment Mr. Lin has shown towards the goal of increasing both the understanding and appreciation of the Chinese culture here in the United States and for the larger interests and ideals of the United Nations. As a long standing member of the Indian Foreign Service, I had served for almost 38 years in the Diplomatic service of India and have had the honor of serving my country’s ambassador to China for almost four years, having actually started my professional career also in the 70’s in China. In a sense, with me being to meet with Mr. Lin and with his colleagues over here has helped me to reconnect with the larger picture, the larger ambience of Chinese culture for which I have had a sustained appreciation over several decades. Over the last six years I have been involved with the United Nations as Under Secretary General, for a short while as Chef-de-cabinet of the Secretary General and since the April of last year, as the Special advisor of the Secretary General on Myanmar. So, I have been working on a rather focused issue of the UN’s relationship with Myanmar, encouraging political change in Myanmar, but that has not prevented me from engaging in some of the larger activities of the United Nations and when Mr. Lin had indicated his interest in contributing to the work of the United Nations, I encouraged him to get in touch with several of our departments, including the Office of the Coordinator of the Humanitarian Assistance which is OCHA and which is involved in a whole series of humanitarian activities around the world, most recently in the conflict areas including Syria and many parts of Africa, as well as some of the many recent problems we have had in the country I have been particularly involved in, that is Myanmar. Therefore, I would like to mention that my presence here is only an indication of my appreciation for Mr. Lin’s activities in the broader field for helping the understanding of China around the world and in contributing towards a greater cooperation between the Chinese community in the United States, the Chinese business which is involved here in the United States with the United Nations and its programs and I would personally pray for greater strength to his elbow for his good work and hoping that in his activities he is able to encourage more and more people to contribute to the work which the United Nations has been doing around the world and to contribute towards enhancing that cooperation through his good officers. Thank you.

Guests had the opportunity of witnessing a live drawing performance everyday with the artists accepting some special requests. The closing ceremony featured great talents from the Fujian Opera.
