Michael McAllister is the Life Coach and Therapist at EGA. In his early days, Michael worked in public housing and later with disabled adolescents in residential and community care. Despite extensive work with adults and young people, Michael’s home planet is mental health and substance abuse treatment. He has worked for many years as a program director and leader of a treatment advocacy and provider coalition, and also served as Director of Substance Abuse Policy and Planning for ACS. In addition to private practice as a psychotherapist, Michael was an adjunct faculty of the State University of NY for 10 years, teaching university courses for students incarcerated in State prisons.

Michael has enjoyed the opportunity to come out of semi-retirement in recent years, working with church outreach and homeless services, and working as a senior practitioner in Great Britain for a year, in a youth and family services agency. He is grateful for the chance to work as a life coach and therapist with young adults here at EGA/GSS and believes our community has enabled him to learn from their journeys, as he works to be helpful to all.
