A farm grows in @middleschool53! Yesterday, M.S. 53 Brian Piccolo school on Nameoke Street unveiled the fruits (or veggies) of their labor as they held a ribbon cutting for the third @teensforfoodjustice hydroponic farm system on the peninsula. Since January, the middle schoolers have been learning how to grow their own lettuces, herbs and even cucumbers with this indoor system. The produce is utilized during lunch at the school and distributed through the community.
