Very exciting news for lawyers here on Staten Island. At long last, New Jersey and New York have agreed to reciprocity with each other!
Attorneys who practiced for five of the last seven years are eligible to apply. Other rules can be found on the website below.
The RCRLA has been closely monitoring this decision, engaging in constant communication with the NJ Supreme Court and NY Office of Court Administration.

"One can envision the ease by which a terrorist or other criminal could easily obtain this form of identification to perpetuate criminal activity," RCRLA member and Assemblyman Ron Castorina writes in an Oct. 20 letter to Department of Financial Services Superintendent Maria Vullo.
"In short, your direction to New York's banking community lacks appropriate due diligence for the enormity of the action you undertook."
Castorina doesn't want banks to accept city's municipal ID
Some small banks already accept the card, and Mayor Bill de Blasio has fought the notion that the cards aren't secure.
