🫗 EPA is taking action to reduce PFAS exposure and protect drinking water.

Last week, EPA advanced a comprehensive PFAS strategy that includes nearly $1 billion in new funding, proposed drinking water safeguards for PFOA and PFOS, and practical tools to help communities address PFAS and other emerging contaminants.

In Region 2, this means new support for communities in New York, New Jersey, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Managing stormwater is a critical matter of public health — but the large costs involved can strain wastewater systems and their customers, especially in small and financially distressed communities.

EPA just announced $2.5 million to New Jersey through the Sewer Overflow and Stormwater Reuse Municipal Grant program to help communities address stormwater and sewer infrastructure needs. The agency will provide this funding to states to award municipal grants that will strengthen systems that safely capture and manage stormwater to help prevent contaminants, including untreated sewage, from polluting nearby waterways.
