NYFSC’s Caregivers Funding Program of up to $600 offers time off from caregiving responsibilities for eligible relatives and Caregivers of children under age 18 and Caregivers of adults over age 18, who are living with disabilities and/or chronic conditions, by providing funds of up to $600 to pay for:

· an in-home program
· a center-based program, where a facility provides the care
· a summer or weekend camp
· assisted living or nursing home programs

Funds must be used within 90 days.

Funds may not be used to reimburse household expenses, rent or food.

Eligibility Requirements for funds of up to $600 include:

Primary caregiver of adults or children with disabilities, each of whom must reside within New York City’s five boroughs.

Caregivers must not be receiving respite care from other organizations.

𝐍𝐞𝐞𝐝 𝐚𝐟𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐝𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐡𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐞?
New York Foundation for Senior Citizens’ Respite Care Program offers affordable Certified Home Health Aides to provide short term in-home care for older adults over age 60 and relief for caregivers. It is the only program of its type in New York City.

The moderate rate of $19.65 per hour for short-term, in-home care is unique in the City of New York. It is free of charge during certain emergencies.

New York Foundation for Senior Citizens’ unique Respite Care Program is the only service of its type in NYC. The program is funded through New York State and New York City Budgets.

Are you a caregiver for a relative who has a disability or chronic condition or a Kinship Caregiver for a child under 18?
New York Foundation for Senior Citizens is offering respite vouchers for up to $600. Kinship Caregivers* and caregivers of persons with a disability or chronic condition who are not receiving respite from another organization are eligible for this funding.


Caregivers may use the voucher for respite services that include:

· An in-home program
· A center-based program, where a facility provides the care
· A summer or weekend camp
· Assisted living or nursing home programs

You must reside within one of the five NYC boroughs and be the primary caregiver of a child or an adult. You must provide a referral — a doctor, social worker, or other professional who knows you and your family. Emergency respite will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

You may not use voucher funds to reimburse household expenses, like rent or food. Vouchers are good for 90 days.
