We remember. On this day, 23 years ago. Although many years have gone by, may we never forget the tragedy, loss, and how the world would forever be changed.

On this day, 25 years ago, February 26th,1993, a bomb exploded in the garage below the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center in New York City, killing six and injuring more than 1,000. This would be the first terrorist attack on the World Trade Center site and would be foreshadowed by the horrific attacks of September 11th, 2001 only eight years later. But may we also never forget the first attempts at the destruction of this iconic site.

Today marks the 16th anniversary of the terrible tragedy of September 11th, 2001. On this day, thousands of innocent lives were lost on the day America was under attack.

- 40 people killed in Shanksville, Pennsylvania when United Airlines Flight 93 crashes into a field after passengers try to take back control from terrorist hijackers.

- 184 people killed in Washington D.C at The Pentagon when hijacked American Airlines Flight 77 crashes into the building.

- 2,753 people killed in Lower Manhattan, New York City when hijacked American Airlines Flight 11 and United Airlines Flight 175 crashes into both towers of the World Trade Center, leading to the devastating complete collapse of both towers. People also had to, unfortunately, make the choice to jump to their deaths or suffer in the towers.

- A total of 2,977 innocent people lost their lives in these tragic events including young children and families, not counting the 19 hijackers who worked under Osama Bin Laden and Al Qaeda.

This is a day that forever will go down in history, unfortunately, a day of pain, sorrow, horror, fear, heartbreak, and uncertainty. The World Trade Center was the most horrific event of 9/11, claiming the most lives and causing the most catastrophe. Keep those involved in your thoughts and prayers as today, we remember and never forget.

Such a beautiful photo, yet so eerie. This is one of the last photos taken of the World Trade Center, taken the stormy night of September 10th, 2001 at around 9:00PM. Taken just 12 hours before the terrible tragedy of 9/11.

Our hearts, thoughts, and prayers go out to those affected by Hurricane Matthew. Over 1,000 innocent lives have been lost from the Caribbean, to the east coast. To those affected, please stay safe.

Located on floors 106 and 107 of 1 World Trade Center (North Tower), Windows On The World was a true fine dining experience, with stunning panoramic views of the New York, New Jersey, and as far as the eye could see. However, many people do not know that also on these floors were other restaurants, bars, and sit downs, including The Cellar In The Sky, The City Lights Bar, Hors D'oeuvrerie, and The Statue of Liberty Lounge.
