How do I PrEP? There are many options, including a once-a-day pill, long-acting injectables, or PrEP on Demand. Choose what works for you now; you can always change your preference if your needs change or as new options become available.

Taking a daily pill for HIV prevention is a great choice for many people; while others prefer long-acting injectable PrEP, which is given by a health care professional every two months or every six months. PrEP on Demand is a good option for those who only engage in infrequent, planned s*xual encounters: You take two pills before s*x; then one pill 24 hours after the first dose, and another pill 24 hours after that (2-1-1 method).

Which choice is right for you? Talk to your health care provider about the best way for you to PrEP.

October is History Month, a great time to celebrate the Stonewall National Museum Archives & Library (SNMAL). In addition to presenting annual exhibitions, programs, workshops, and discussions, SNMAL operates one of the leading LGBTQIA+ archives in America. Located in Ft. Lauderdale, FL, SNMAL also hosts virtual programming and digital collections that can be accessed through its website: https://stonewall-museum.org/.
As the current administration attempts to erase LGBTQ+ history and SNMAL itself suffers deep federal and state funding cuts, it is especially important to support this valuable organization!

“Trans people exist. We are part of the diverse mosaic of human life, and we will not be disrespected by friend, foe, frenemy, or my governor.” -- Monica Roberts, Transgender Rights Advocate, Journalist, and Founding Editor of TransGriot Weekly.

Monica Roberts (1962 – 2020) was an icon and a trailblazing voice for transgender rights, both in her home state of Texas and around the country. In 2006, she founded TransGriot Weekly, a pioneering blog about issues pertaining to trans women, particularly women of color. Her coverage helped bring national attention to the alarming rates of transgender homicide, and she worked tirelessly to identify victims who were misgendered and deadnamed by the police and local media. Roberts also wrote for EBONY, HuffPost, The Advocate, and the Unapologetically Trans column in OutSmart Magazine. Her many honors include the GLAAD Media Award for outstanding blog, the Barbara Jordan Breaking Barriers Award, and the 2020 Susan J. Hyde Award for Longevity in the Movement.
