This original song created to honor the ancestors buried at the African Burial Ground National Monument, was performed during the 20th Anniversary of the Reinterment of the Ancestors, in October 2023.
We invite you to come visit the African Burial Ground, Tuesday through Saturday from 10am to 4pm to help honor the ancestors buried here and celebrate National Park Week.

Today’s theme is nature songs, and for the Mather Building Arts & Craftsmanship High School students who go to school two blocks away from Time Square, the concrete jungle is natural. Whether it be in New York City, where they greet visitors at National Parks in their own backyard, or Yellowstone National Park, where they travel to work on preservation projects, Mather students are at the core of what we do and inspire us every day.
