Dance Music comes in all shapes and sizes. Some songs are written for love, for loss, and some are simply just written to dance to. This original song created to honor the ancestors buried at the African Burial Ground National Monument, was performed during the 20th Anniversary of the Reinterment of the Ancestors, in October 2023.

We invite you to come visit the African Burial Ground, Tuesday through Saturday from 10am to 4pm to help honor the ancestors buried here and celebrate National Park Week.

Showcasing the gorgeous fjord that is the Hudson River, and Hudson Station, the oldest operated station in NY State. In honor of National Park Week and today’s playlist genre – Heavy Metal we celebrate Trails&Rails, a National Volunteer Program in partnership with Amtrak here in NYC! The journey begins at Moynihan Station in NYC, travels to Albany and back again on Amtrak. On Saturdays from May to November join us in the café car to hear about the history of the Hudson Valley or sign up to volunteer!

Today’s theme is nature songs, and for the Mather Building Arts & Craftsmanship High School students who go to school two blocks away from Time Square, the concrete jungle is natural. Whether it be in New York City, where they greet visitors at National Parks in their own backyard, or Yellowstone National Park, where they travel to work on preservation projects, Mather students are at the core of what we do and inspire us every day.
