Key Points from 🇦🇫 Afghanistan's Statement at the UNGA80 Fourth Committee on Special Political Missions (November 12, 2025):
🔹 Afghanistan aligns with the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) statement and appreciates the UN's efforts to strengthen peace, stability, and human rights through special political missions.
🔹 Afghanistan faces serious challenges — economic collapse, humanitarian crisis, widespread human rights violations, terrorism, and systematic deprivation of women and girls from their fundamental rights.
🔹 The Taliban's failure & unwillingness to establish an inclusive and accountable system have led to further isolation and pushed millions into poverty.
🔹 We once again express our support for and its impartial role in promoting peace, stability, and inclusive governance.
🔹 UNAMA's presence is vital for monitoring the human rights situation, especially the deteriorating conditions of Afghan women and girls.
🔹 We call on all UN entities and partners to deliver assistance to the most vulnerable segments of society with transparency and accountability.
🔹 The UN-led Doha process has not produced tangible results, but if it returned to its original purpose, guided by a unified international strategy, a clear political roadmap, and the appointment of a special envoy for Afghanistan.
🔹 After 4 years of political deadlock, inclusive political dialogue must be prioritized.
🔹 Afghanistan's stability and reintegration into the international system requires a legitimate, inclusive, and representative government built on justice, rule of law, and the will of the people.
🔹 Afghanistan appreciates the UN's longstanding commitment and calls on all member states to continue supporting the Afghan people, especially women and girls.
🔹 Special political missions must operate with clear mandates, impartiality, transparency, inclusivity, and respect for national ownership.

🇦🇫 At the Fifth Committee, Afghanistan expressed deep concern over the denial of its Article 19 exemption for a second year.
Despite facing an unlawful takeover, economic collapse, and a grave humanitarian and human rights crisis, our plea for fairness and impartiality was disregarded.

🇦🇫 statement at the meeting on the situation in Afghanistan:
“The future of Afghanistan must not be dictated by force, exclusion, or fear. It must be shaped through inclusive dialogue, genuine accountability, and a shared commitment to the rights, dignity, and aspirations of all Afghans—especially the women and girls who have borne the brunt of this crisis.”

Statement by H.E. Naseer Ahmad Faiq, Charge d'affaires of Permanent Mission of Afghanistan to the UN, at the Special Meeting on Forced Displacement & Refugee Protection:
“While we acknowledge the pressures on host countries, forced returns and scapegoating of refugees are not viable solutions. They erode decades of regional solidarity and expose millions to renewed suffering. We urge Pakistan and Iran to halt all forced deportations, uphold their international obligations, and collaborate with the United Nations and partners to ensure that any returns are voluntary, safe, and dignified.”
