How do YOU spread kindness through creativity? PS 28 is so lucky and we feel so loved. We received hand-knit hats from and new books from last week. It has been so wonderful to let each of our students come into the library and leave with such special gifts! We are cozy warm AND we are building at home libraries of diverse books! Thank you so much , Jahmal and for your kindness and sharing your gifts with us.

Recently finished Here for It: Or How to Save Your Soul in America by who had some really insightful, funny, and relatable things to say about life, love, friendship, identity and, of course, libraries. π Thank you always for the perfect words when so many of us are having necessary hard conversations. Posted β’ People always tell LaNesha and I we help them have hard conversations with little kids. It's what we try to do well to change the world for the next generation. We are thankful to have that impact and we hope that this resource helps too. The first significant immigration law in the United States was a racist one that had the goal of excluding Chinese immigrants. The racism being faced today is nothing new, but it has increased and it is wrong. Remember when you have these talks with your kids, don't act like this just started because of the pandemic. It's always been around. History is connected. The past always impacts the present. This resource is free in our TpT stores and there's also a Google drive link in my stories for quicker access. Even if you think your child/student isn't racist towards Asian people, have the conversation anyway.
