Madison Township Fire Department Station-100 This is the official page for Madison Township Fire Department in Licking County Ohio. We protect a area of 22.2 square miles with a population of 3,600.

Madison Township Fire Department is a combination department that provides Fire and EMS protection for Madison Township. In addition to Fire & EMS, MTFD places a great deal of training and funds towards water rescue operations. MTFD trains weekly on Thursdays. MTFD is funded for two paid staff on duty 24/7 and is supplemented by volunteers. Volunteers earn points for their attendance on emergency calls and training, then at Christmas time, the VIP (volunteer incentive program) fund is divided by the number of points earned and paid out as a Christmas bonus. The department is led by Chief Nick Garver and Assistant Chief David Decker. They are assisted by three Captains, three Lieutenants, and an EMS Coordinator. If you live in or around Madison Township and are interested in becoming a member, contact us on Facebook, stop by or call the station, or email [email protected].

A friendly reminder.

Daylight Saving Time ends tonight! Don’t forget to turn your clocks back one hour.

While you’re at it, take a moment to change the batteries in your smoke and carbon monoxide detectors and test them to make sure they’re working properly.

A few minutes today could save lives tomorrow.

“𝗪𝗵𝘆 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗮𝘀𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝗼 𝗺𝗮𝗻𝘆 𝗾𝘂𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀? 𝗝𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝘀𝗲𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗼𝗻𝗲!”

We hear this a lot, and we understand. When you’re in an emergency, every second feels like forever. Here’s what’s happening on our end while we talk with you:

📍 Where are you? This always comes first. We can’t send help if we can’t find you.

❓ What’s happening? Your answers tell responders what to bring and how urgently to respond.

🚑 Help is often already on the way. Once we know where you are and what’s happening, responders can be sent while we keep talking with you.

🗣️ We stay with you. We can walk you through what to do until help arrives, like how to control bleeding or perform CPR.

Stay on the line, stay as calm as you can, and answer the best you’re able. Every question has a purpose. 🧡

The closest ambulance isn’t always the one at the nearest station. 🚑

Fire trucks and ambulances are on the move all day: returning from the hospital, out on training, or wrapping up another call. That’s why our CAD system tracks live GPS from fire and EMS units.

When a call comes in, each unit’s real-time location is one of the factors used to recommend who responds. The type and priority of the call matter too, and so does each fire department’s response plan, which they set for the communities they serve.

The goal is simple: the right help, as fast as possible. ⏱️
