Affordable storefronts help local entrepreneurs put down roots, reach new customers, and build alongside the neighborhoods they serve.

As part of the Keeping Newark Affordable legislation proposal, a new ordinance incentivizes developers to create affordable ground-floor retail space and affordable housing through a 1% reduction in long-term tax abatement payments or five additional years on abatements shorter than 30 years.
